That's like selling 2.5 million in this day and age, and again she was 14. She was basically the creator of answer records, because they really jumped off after that.
And from that point on she did shows, made records,was part of the Bridge Wars with her record "have a nice day".
This is the woman who created the image and concept of the ill spitting female MC...She came before them all. And again, she was in a crew with Bizmarkie, Big Daddy Kane, Master Ace, Craig G, Kool G Rap, Marley Marl, Mc Shan.
But Lauryn makes a couple of rappity raps, never been in any battles, no answer records, etc, but she's GOAT?....Shante is the mother to her style and existence.

She started Mcing at the age of 12. Recorded her first tract at the age of 14. Created one of the illest dis songs with 10% Dis, a record that was dissing Antionette. Her discography goes 7 albums deep, and was the dopest female mc during the golden era, rocking shows and touring like crazy. To me she is the greatest female MC to walk the earth.She existed during an era where damn near every MC was ill. And not only is she listed as the greatest female mc, but she is also on the list of greatest Mcs in general.
But lauryn hill makes a couple of rappity raps, and according to you, that makes here GOAT over MC lyte? Where are lauryn battle records or albums? The legendary shows? The crews? A couple of Fugee albums and one solo HIP HOP SOUL album, and she's the goat?

Crew: Flavor Unit/native tongue
Started off beat boxing.
She was put on by Fab 5 Freddy and Dante Ross after they heard her Demo. Changed the whole female rap game with her Jah/street mc flow, and by creating lyrics and songs that focused on the empowerment of women. Had some of the illest guest appearances as a female MC, and unlike mc lyte and shante, she is a fantastic singer ( jazz) and meaningful female actor. Here Hip hop discograpy runs 5 albums deep
The rhyme for rhyme, jamaican chant flow on choruses influenced Hill's chant style.
Miseducation of Lauryn Hill is a great album, but it is more of a Hip Hop soul album. She is basically a female version of WyClef, and that's not a diss. I like her music and I like her sound. And for the record she started off singing, Wyclef and Pras taught her how to rap and wrote her rhymes.
