That clip is at the top of the page, and she's simply giving information about how deaths will be classified.

I gave my interpretation of how her news will affect Black people (which turned out to be true).

The article is the NY Post's interpretation, which isn't very important to me... hence my interpretation saying something different, because my concern is Black people.

I know Reeq left, but let the record show, his ONLY argument was against the outlets these clips happened to be on... not against the news itself. These outlets aren't the original sources of these clips... they're just the easiest ways for them to be viewable to everyone, spliced at the point where the important info is shared.

They have practiced something called medical racism...

Like I said earlier in the post, if one can't see how the words in the article can be used against us specifically, you either don't know much or don't connect dots very well. I know what the article is saying. Preemptively seeing how such things will affect us is just something I've gotten pretty good at. If you can recognize that we have more issues that can bring us to the hospital, I trust that you're smart enough to figure this out. Basically stated, shit be different for us. Way different. majority work in service industry jobs such as running the register/stocking supplies, public transportation, custodial/janitorial, etc. where they have no choice to be around people, and live in densely populates areas, furthering their exposure to other carriers.

plus blacks are also fighting two viruses: Covid-19 and HIV. some have found out they have HIV after getting tested for Covid-19. while others choose not to cause they dont want to know why their immune system is suddenly shutting down at a rapid pace.

and recently black men are being targeted by the cops for wearing a mask and cops are walking thru public housing complex and coughing on the residents. black ppl are desperately trying to survive this epidemic yet the powers that be want them DEAD.

if you have to go inside and out past multiple people multiple times a day, then if you live in a home with multiple people that come and go multiple times a day...

Been having many conversations about these things and hearing so many accounts that validate your concerns here. 66 yr old black woman said she was treated like she was gonna stick Walmart up for having on a mask. The story of the black bus driver who made the video after being coughed on then died a couple of days later hit me pretty hard. Bus drivers kicking black people off for not having on masks now. People are seeing that America will use ANY reason to target us. There's no call to refrain from practicing racism against us. It's always open season. What we can do is be safe, eat right as to build our immune systems up as strong as possible, get sunlight, etc. For many black people, our investment in our ability to fight the virus off is our best bet. I'm lucky enough to not have to be out and still getting paid, but many prayers to those who aren't.

^^I kind of just stumbled upon it and couldn't stop watching/listening. Really good mix of perspectives and I'd enjoy seeing the same group tackle other topics, for example as a weekly web or cable series.

It's about 1.5h long and just a gently mediated talk - centered on black American experiences - about community-specific risks, impacts, and possible strategies to deal with the pandemic. They touch on lots of angles including (but not limited to):

-thinking about how to message risk communications to get people to care and galvanize across different black experiences;

-commentary about the ingenuity/resilience of folks creating makeshift PPE in the face of shortages/lacking access, and also the racial profiling layer with respect to higher risk of targeting by LE when wearing PPE and/or having to venture to wealthier neighborhoods just to find essentials in the first place;

-barriers to accessing stimulus assistance like owing back child support, lower rate of homeownership (where Sunny speaks from a legal perspective just how unprotected renters are), having a small biz but not employing enough staff by a certain time to qualify for help with payroll, having priors, etc;

-larger proportion of single-parent homes (the parents, aunts/uncles, grandparents of which are the higher risk black folk with chronic conditions leaving kids behind with less caregivers);

And one part I found the most interesting, Sunny summarizes some chatter happening in (black) legal circles laying out what she believes could take the form of a class action, centered on the disproportionate impact that negligent decision-making, failure to test, failure to treat, etc is inflicting on black families during the crisis.

What's more important than that is recognizing valuable information even if the source is sometimes faulty. THAT takes situational intelligence and not the robotic thinking you're practicing right now.

Even in the NY Post link, there's a clip from C-Span of Dr. Birx speaking, but Reeq couldn't get past the NY Post enough to realize I'm not saying what they're saying. You don't have to be as dense as he is. Be better.
