A few dope songs but not the Jhene I like.

Lots of short, singer-songwriter type songs.

Shit like Party For Me and Tryna Smoke and HOE is the Jhene I'm more into.

10k Hours too.
I think it's a step up from Trip. But still not as good as Sail Out or Souled Out. Her music started suffering when she started fuckin with Sean, imo.

>José James - No Beginning No End 2 - 4/12

Whoa. I misread this and was like, "Is this a first-time vinyl release or something. This album came out already," and then I realized there was a "2" at the end. Peep the track list:
https://josejames.bandcamp.com/album/no-beginning-no-end-2

I haven't listened to it yet but based on the tracklist/guests, this appears to be his most commercial project yet.

From his website:
"For one, while the prequel was James' Blue Note debut, this is his first set of new music for his own label/collective Rainbow Blonde Records. Secondly, the album is chock-full of collaborators who are auteurs in their own right — Laura Mvula, Aloe Blacc, Ledisi, Erik Truffaz, and Hindi Zahra, to name a few — appearing in unexpected sonic contexts. Thirdly, with the backing of a wildly good band held down by rhythm sections in Los Angeles and Brooklyn (befitting Rainbow Blonde's bicoastal status) the songs are warmer and more defined than ever, balancing classic songwriting against immersive vibe."

Okay. One last thought and then I will go sit down somewhere...
I had no clue Jose James' new label included other artists, including Ben Williams, who just dropped a new label that features him singing rather than playing bass.

I had not seen any press about Jose James co-founding a label and having artists but this is pretty dope! He put out five albums on Blue Note after being on Gilles Peterson's Brownswood Recordings label. This seems like a natural next step.

Here's a related article I found: https://bkroads.net/rainbow-blonde-records-is-new-beginning-for-jose-james

jadakiss was okay/good. no complaints but nothing great. 4/5 maybe less.
jhene was okay. some good some bad. definitely too long. seems like any song would be good to have on in the background but nothing i would probably return to. 3.5/5
megan is not for me. its not bad but definitely not something i would play regularly. 3.5/5
phantogram was good. definitely the best out of this week. 4/5.

Egoismo and Malibu are two of my favorite songs from last year.
Mientes is pretty much on that same level.

he whole album is nice. it has R&B and R&B leaning songs w/ spanish and pop influences.

29. "Dua Lipa album is solid."
In response to Reply # 24

I generally like her. Not the illest female pop album ever but it's earnest like most of her stuff which makes it enjoyable.

It's got some good funk and disco aspects to it as well.

Solid 7.5 outta 10. Also, not a long ass fucking album. Anyone who makes album with 14 songs or less in 2020 should be nominated for a Grammy by default.
