I imagine the sailors were carrying out some clandestine mission for an international arms dealer and were almost caught by the coast guard. Then instead of unloading the ship, they left it in little dinghys leaving the uranium tipped missles. Coast Guard captain and crew dropped the anchor and decided how to sell of the missles and divide the profits. One of the crew members knew of a Venezuelan ship that dabbled in illegal shipments to unregistered ports off the coast of Aden. The Venezuelan ship just happened to be in the area, bought the goods from the Coast Guard for sale to some private military firm working in South Sudan. The coast guard crew split the proceeds and went on their way.
Eventually the ship's anchor was unmoored.
Now it sits on a rocky Ireland coast.
America has imported more warlord theocracy from Afghanistan than it has exported democracy.
