Felt. I'm at our call center. Twice in the last year, our lines got cut due to someone stealing copper wire. We couldn't do a damn thing, but We have to make a show of looking busy. So we're stuck staring at pages of handbook material for hours when it happens.
Then they shipped us out to offices, but since our profiles were tied to the call center specifically, and we don't have roaming profiles as a standard, we'd spend all our time trying to get our accounts u available and running.

I don't recall a lot of 3-identical-verse tracks but I for some reason I have a memory of a lot of MCs doing that where the 1st and 3rd verses would be the same, with an original 2nd verse. Can't think of any examples right now but if I do I'll come back with them.
I remember wondering what the hell the point was. 2 verse songs work too lol.

and looking at studio bills and saying fuck it... just use the 3rd verse.
Common always had 2 or 3 songs where the last line of a verse was either repeating the previous line again or scatting over the beat cause he couldn’t think of some hot shit.

Considering the release hell that album had, I'm not even sure that was supposed to be the lead off single. Can't remember if I Just Wanna Chill came out first either. Still, point taken. Large Pro could have done another verse

"ijuswannachill" was the 2nd single.. but yeah, he should have dropped in late 93 early 94 for optimal impact ..He had the only guest appearance on Midnight Marauders (besides Daves hook on Award Tour) ..Plus he could have rode that Nasty Nas buzz.. Meanwhile Main Source would drop a garbage record without him around that time.

That .. and he's also using repetition very rhythmically and sonically in that song.. It has an almost hypnotic effect which goes hand in hand with the repeating of the chorus and the progressive bass line.
At first we think it's a typical rap song in terms of structure, but then the lyrics and vocals transform primarily into rhythmic devices bringing you deeper and deeper into the groove.. and the initial message of the verse.
Kendrick kinda does this with LUST. However, he makes more noticeable modifications in the verse like starting over in the middle of the 2nd repetition and changing the intended audience from male to female in the 3rd.
The Thong Song is just a dance song with a dance track. Dance music has always been repetitive. Sisqo emerged from club culture. Disco, house, dance pop, EDM all have repeating verses. That's all that is.
