"Talkin' Cars On Tuesday - Car reviews and other stufffs"

My YouTube feed has been popping up with classic MotorWeek episodes, which made me laugh and feel super old. I can remember that was the only weekly TV shows I could get until I was an adult. While the Top Gear iteration of Clarkson, May and Hammond ruled the roost for a while, things have changed. The Top Gear brand doesn't have the same shine, The Grand Tour is cool, but doesn't have quite the same spark, and there's just a lot more options for shows and personalities for car fans. Who are some of your favorite presenters and/or shows you like to watch to scratch your auto itch, be it online or TV? a few of mine:

Jason Cammisa. He does look like discount Adam Sandler, and he can come across as a childish dick. But that's part of his appeal. He really knows his cars and history. I enjoyed his time at MotorTrend on Ignition and Head 2 Head, but then they went behind a paywall and all went to shit. He's resurfaced on ISSIMI and has a hilariously nerdy auto podcast. He just dropped a video review on the 2020 Shelby GT500 which proves he was the drive behind a lot of the reviews on MT. It's really good, if you haven't seen it: https://youtu.be/mcQWMHYCrO8

Chris Harris. He reminds me a bit of a young Clarkson, but hasn't become a hack yet. He's a great driver and really gets excited with the cars he has to review. I like the fact he moved to TOp Gear, which gave him much more exposure. I really liked his chemistry with Rory Reid on the failed Extra Gear experiment (I'm a fan of Rory as well; good to see him popping up on some reviews) That said, I'm not sure whether the responsibilities of the show slowed him down (or if he's focusing more on GT racing). I do like him taking Ferrari to task on the new Roma (which really does look like an Aston):https://youtu.be/xboqtjL-a-U

Alex Goy. Alex did a number of reviews for XCar (now Carfection) before going primarily freelance. I enjoy the way his writing and the way he weaves a story into his review. Perfect example would be his Rolls Royce Wraith was a perfect example of this: https://youtu.be/QzJLqoOW49E

I've got a few more for later

The car wash/detailing channels I usually end up with are:

Forensic Detailing Channel:
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC_4lRohBzY20wjsFGWS0Jzg

Ammo NYC (I've learned a ton from Larry on detailing my car)
https://www.youtube.com/user/AMMONYCdotcom

Three weekly subscriptions I end up watching are pretty common, but I enjoy them for different reasons

Mr. Regular on RegularCars - The reviews bounce between car facts, English lit major and a teen hopped up on Code Red that still thinks dick and fart jokes are funny all the time. Still, I look forward to whatever random, regular daily driver (or motorcycle) is up on Monday. One of my favorite reviews was the Grand National:
https://youtu.be/6u8xlg-q5Xc

Jay Leno on Jay Leno's Garage - Say what you want about Jay. Whether he's funny or not, whether he did Letterman and Conan dirty, whether he's a hack, fine. What you can't dispute is the man knows and loves cars of all sorts for all reasons. His CNBC show feels forced, but every Monday there's going to be an interesting, whether it's an exotic, a classic, a one off custom, something that runs on steam, a prototype... Jay has a lot and knows a lot of people, so there's always going to be something he can review that nobody else can. The ones I like best are the cars he has some personal connection to, like his personal 2017 Ford GT:
https://youtu.be/7-MCdfqL61E

James Pumphrey on Up To Speed - Donut Media has been putting out progressively better videos over the past year and some change. Younger car dudes from California, they do have a different vibe, and while not always the most informative, they are entertaining. And they love 80s style pop up headlights, as this review of the Pontiac Fiero proves:

Geese is good because he does a lot of "regular" car reviews (no pun intended) but they all have the same insane quality and offbeat humor.
