This dude I used to hustle with had a friend who was a security guard for the show, and he said he'd pull a string if I could sink a hook hot from half court.
Long story short, I hit the shot, and she got on the show.
She KILLED that joint. She was glorious.
It was all downhill from there though. I had a bit of a gambling problem, and she warned me she'd leave if I gambled the money she gave me. But I was in the zone, and doubled the money she gave me.
She left me anyways. At least I was able to pay off those mobsters that were after me, so there's that. My boy said we're probably better off without each other.

How was the food in the green room? how was the studio? did the crew treat you well? How long did it take to tape the episodes? Any mishaps? Were the other contestants cool?

Just small snacks like kind bars and chips. I think I downed like a gallon of coffee while I was back there.

Small-ish. Maybe seating for around 100 people. And freezing. They keep it super cold in there for whatever reason.

Shows take about as long to film as it does to broadcast. Commercial breaks are spent refilming / editing specific questions if he mispronounces something or coughs through a reading. They do five shows a day and they draw names out of a hat as to who will take on the champion. So though the episodes themselves are short, you're there from like 7AM - 5PM because you don't know who's going next. I actually had to come back the next day (the next week IRL) because me and another guy weren't selected out of the original pool of 11.

Not really. Alex was super sick and was losing his voice and was coughing the whole time, so they had to redub a lot of his questions.

Yeah! Way more socially normal than they project on television. I'm FB friends with most of the folks I taped with. You watch all of their games as your waiting for your name to get drawn, so you get super emotionally invested in all of them succeeding lol.
