RARE soul/R&B LPs are USUALLY rare because they only printed enough for the black audience (or even less).
dollar bin soul/R&B LPs are TYPICALLY the stuff white listeners also bought (though maybe not at the same rate as black listeners). either that, or the LP is so musically poor that NO listeners messed with it and that's why they are abundant.

White people, even white hipsters who like alot of old "authentic" black music (Aretha, Otis Redding, Percy Sledge, etc.) , never seemed to latch onto that type of music, but it was wildly popular in the black community: Freddie Jackson, Anita Baker, Phyllis Hyman, Karyn White, etc.
