Note that the hood is NOT detachable and that it's a shell and will require a 2nd layer or two beneath for winter weather (below 40degrees or so)

I own the other version of this jacket and I wear it throughout winter with no warmth issues by layering a wool sweater and sweat wicking base layer t-shirt (Uniqlo heat gear).
