has anyone watched it? i think its really well done. i enjoyed it. each episode does a good job covering the making of each song, background on the artists. the impact the song had when it was released and its legacy.

The Bridge made sense. I don't hate Ladies First but I feel like Unity woulda been better. But that's just me. Either way, HELLA dope to see Queen La get so much love and actually hear her speak about her career

ive never really checked out her music. i was mostly excited to see the native tongues in her episode. i really appreciated the episode. cant say it made me eager to listen to the song but i respect the story and made me appreciate latifah more.
Even not being that into "South Bronx" vs. "The Bridge", it's still a very well made show. A great support for the "documentaries >>>> biopics" argument.

i don't think so.
i'm not MAD the are making mini-docs about songs/happenings i love and am interested in, but i'm not sure they are getting it right unless they are using the loosest interpretation of "songs that shook america."

forgetting the title of the show i understand what they were going for with the selections. at least after watching the episodes. these were songs that were pivotal and had a lasting impact. or were big statements when they came out.
i hope there are more seasons because i would love to get this back story on a lot of songs/artists.

to get the show made? Like even for Kanye, I would've done Through The Wire. Outkast - B.O.B. The Bridge made sense. Why not Walk This Way instead of Rock Box?
I'd like to see like...Thuggush Ruggish Bone (but they'd do Crossroads). Something from NWA or Snoop. Luchini? Idk this show could go so many places. It is VERY well done though.

that's what I was expecting.
i mean, i was an Outkast STAN (I ran the hell outta Southernplaylistik and it's still my favorite Outkast album) when ATLiens dropped and I thought Elevators was the worst song on there at the time. ATLiens, the title track, seems like a much more impactful song off that album to me. i know that song hooked people on Outkast who didn't know them AND it was the song off that album that really got any radio/club play aka more exposure aka any chance of "shaking" america.

im hoping a second season changes the title, and each season there after does the same. approach songs from a different point of view instead of "shook"
