the track listing confused me. genius had 11 songs listed. google only had 10 songs in the album. i dont know why google left off the lauryn track from the album but has it as a single. looked on amazon and they list 16 tracks on the cd but 11 on the stream/mp3 album. from what i see the other tracks are old ones.
i liked all 11 except for ride or die. really doesnt go with the rest of it and having it as the first track????

Black people being their own worst enemy --> the foil Not all cops are bad cops --> dude that let's them out the garage, and riot cop dude being all nice and $hit
The part that I'm still struggling with is... Black Male, minor, protester...shooting and killing a cop Did Trump get a co-producer credit on this bull$hit
I mean...they literally go dancing....after shooting and killing a cop... They Go F'ing Dancing Son!

Never mind the idea of them trying to go to Cuba is hilarisad considering they're in Ohio...and could get to Canada multiple ways...within a couple of hours
...even traveling to NO, Mexico is just as close as MIA...
But YO! Lil' homie shooting the cop...in light of recent events

I watched it but I didn’t even think about how close they were to Canada.
“Let’s drive thru the south”
yeah.. that’s a bit of a stretch.
Toronto is like.. right there. Too cold?
But I watched it as entertainment.. not as a playbook on how to get away from the cops.

do u think that misogynistic lyrics, the glorification of a criminal lifestyle and the repetitive narration about black death on countless rap albums, including classic ones, is problematic?
cant Queen & Slim just be A story told by A person (or group) in A moment in time?
i just appreciated the artistic process personally and even if the story didnt end the way I wanted it to, didnt stop me from enjoying it
but thats just my opinion, your critique of the movie is 100% valid as well

and the answer is pretty much yeah.. still like the songs tho but a lot of that shit was mad ignorant and we now realize why our parents didn’t like a lot of it.
but I was also a backpacker so I rooted for the underground more than the NWA’s.
Which is why I think it’s hilarious when friends try to defend some of the songs today. Sure.. we know why kids like it but are we really defending this shit as their parents or can we be honest about the content?
