"yo..these AirPod Pros are legit....for real for real...."

best ambient sound mode I've experienced on buds to date.
seamless pairing with iOS devices is highly necessary during The Hawk season...
They actually stay in your ears...
If you rocking a Galaxy S10 series device, you can charge them using the reverse charging feature of the phones...that's REALLY what's up...Apple needs to implement this on iPhones for REAL.

Post up some new tech that you feel like everyone needs to experience.

I like the sound of my current bose bluetooths. they're old school now since they have a wire to connect the buds. hopefully the new ones sound just as good.

These joints sound phenomenal to me.
I'll still use them, but the lack of ambient sound makes them a little unsafe for me to use while biking and running....that's what led me to check out the Air Pod Pros.

i have tinnitus and hidden hearing loss so I can't walk around with two buds in at the same time, I always have to rock the CIA agent ear-piece look for safety.

If I had airpods I would surely lose them in the first 48 minutes of ownership because they are not tethered to a cord and I need that damn cord to keep everything together.

of your ear on their own accord vs. being snagged by the cord and pulling out?

The regular air pods maybe, but the pros and most every other wireless earbuds use silicone tips and they pretty much just stay in your ear. I use mine exclusively while running and biking year round and i've yet to have an issue with wireless buds coming out on their own.

the cord is an automatic way to keep everything in one place. without the cord its just two floating earbuds and I know I would lose one because it would not be in my ear.

You don't just carry them joints around loose in your pocket.
Take it out your ear, put it in the case.

Sony Xperia Ear Duo (https://www.sonymobile.com/us/products/smart-products/xperia-ear-duo/#gref)

The 1st generation Samsung Gear Icons set the bar for me...they sounded great, and the onboard music storage was a great feature to have. Came in handy in a couple of races I did where there were so many people running that the cell phone network was too crowded so streaming services didn't work well. I was able to just use the playlists I already had stored on the earbuds. The biggest problem with the 1st Gen was the battery. It drained itself while sitting inside the case. The ambient sound mode was my first experience with the technology and it was cool.

The 2nd generation Gear IconX fixed the batter drain problem and improved the sound quality immensely. I used these for the past 2 years without fail. I was tempted to get the Galaxy Buds until I read that they actually lacked a few key features of the IconX (no onboard music storage for one). IconX improved the ambient sound mode a bit...but it still had a sort of "fake" sound..like you could tell the audio was being processed and then played back to your ears...sounded kinda robotic and harsh.

The Soundcore Libertys I got on Kickstarter on a whim just because my 1st gen Gear Icons were annoying me with the battery drain. They were cool...sounded just fine...but then the IconX came out finally and these went into my electronics junk drawer.....lol. They still work...I should probably give them to my wife to use or something...

The Soundcore Liberty 2 Pro's I just recently coped because they gave me a HUGE discount for being a backer of the original kickstarter campaign. I got these for $79 and they are retailing at $150 I believe. Hands down these sound the BEST of all the wireless AND wired earbuds i've ever owned. They REALLY knocked it out the park with the sound on these. BUT....they kinda chunky. I'd say get these if the AirPod Pros aren't the move for you right now. But then again....they're $150..so keep that in mind. I think they're worth every bit of $150 for sound quality...but damn they chunky as hell...lol...

If you have a decent coupon for the Galaxy Buds, I wouldn't hesitate to cop. Especially if you have a Samsung phone. I really don't get why the Galaxy Buds don't get more praise. They are the perfect size, the perfect price point, features are on par with everyone else, trusted manufacturer, and they look good. The look better than the Air Pods for sure...and still a little better than the Air Pod Pros.

I have to have buds for running and biking. They're the only form factor that works well for those tasks for me. Even prior to buds I had the joints that were bluetooth but connected by a wire...

In response to Reply # 4

i had a credit for $150 that was limited to certain accessories.

i had my eye on one kit that had the duo wireless charger pad ($100) and a 10,000 mAh ($35) charger that was listed as $100. basically free battery charger. figured i would put the other $50 of the credit towards the buds and pay $80 out of pocket.

well the buds were $10 off currently and the wireless charger $20 off. the kit still showed as $100 though and no way to add the buds by themselves.

discovered i could add multiple kits and remove the items i didnt want. it would generally keep all the discounts that applied to the items i left. so yeah out of pocket $50 for the buds, wireless charger pad and battery charger.

That's what ultimately sold me on them....

The regular Air Pods are pretty much just like the wired apple ear buds with no silicone tips to seal to the inside of your ears and provide some friction.

the xb900s are for bass. and the noise cancelling isn't as strong, but I don't care as much about that.

I tried the xm3's. they sounded terrible to me. not enough bass at all. they sounded clear, but with no depth.

Improved fit & functionality (including sharing).

TBH the fact that you're even a mod here fits squarely within Jag's narrative of OK-sanctioned aggression, bullying, and toxicity. *shrug*

$50 more worth of features is worth $50 more

Active noise canceling
Higher water proof rating
Wireless charging
H1 Chip ( granted this is only a feature iPhone can take advantage of)
Ambient mode that actually works and doesn’t sound robotic

At all.
If I was still on Android I’d likely have copped those.

Stick with Power Beats pro until air pods have volume and track controls on them.

though.

Lack of volume control is somewhat mitigated by being able to control from the apple watch crown though. It's actually easier to control volume from the apple watch crown than it was when I was controlling via swipe action from my Gear IconX....especially with gloves on.

not quite there yet.
But I'm guessing that's because of Android.
I'm certain that if Samsung went all in with their Tizen OS on everything, they'd be in the pocket! .... with the exception of apps of course.

speaking true wireless earbuds:

I have the following requirements:

- Good to great sound
- Stay in my bloodclaat ears
- Controls for track movement, pausing/resume, if you can raise and lower the volume that's a bonus, same with call the assistant
- battery life at LEAST 5 hours between charges
- Price that ain't some bullshit (north of $150)

nice to have feature:
- an app for further equalizing of the sound (Galaxy Buds and Jabra headsets do this)
- USB C charging

my go to are ANKER/Soundcore anything. the Airpod looking headsets are pretty cool.

I do like JBL's Endurance series as well (the true wireless ones can exceed the price limit)

Creative Outliers MIGHT be the GOAT

and the Raycon E25s.... might be a sleeper. Not GOAT because the sound is bottom heavy like some Claw-bait. But given the issues with previous models I think the nailed it for the low end. And the shits stay in my ear.

I got a pair of Galaxy Buds for free due to preordering some Samsung shit. Will report on those soon.

Yes, I'm mad. Let's move on.

a Kickstarter backer of the 1st gen. There's a weird audible hissing when they're on and there's no music playing through them though. They're also kinda bulky compared to the Gear IconX & the Air Pods Pro. But they sound so great that the bulk is forgivable.

And the fact that it works flawlessly 8/10 times is kinda amazing.
They really did something special with the microphone array on these things.

..I've been testing a few models this season, and I didn't expect this much of an improvement in the AirPod Pros.

I still think they can provide a richer sound quality overall, but they're more than adequate.
