Polk Mini at Best Buy and that shit bangs. It’s on sale for $179. I’m trying to see if there is another option that’s cheaper that has decent quality.
Main thing I want is Bluetooth hookup, low profile, some good bass for under $200.

but yeah.... when I was looking for a sounder for out bedroom TV (still looking), I'd narrowed it down to a Polk unit too. For some reason I stopped though...I remember Vizio actually made one that was pretty highly rated, but I don't remember the model number. ONE thing I DO remember getting hung up on is making sure to get one that had HDMI connection and not JUST an Audio-in or Bluetooth because those types require a separate remote to adjust the volume. And a lot of them don't work well with the Logitech Harmony universal remotes...at least the cheaper ones.... So it's best to find one with HDMI so that when you adjust the tv volume, it automatically sends that command to the soundbar's volume control too.

im thinking ill eventually end up at 5.2 dont see myself going for a 7.x or above.
i got 3.1 right now. if surround speakers werent so cheap i wouldnt consider adding them. the second sub??? i probably need to play around with placement more before i decide on it. dont really think id get a second one but maybe.

i just went the opposite direction replaced a sound bar with a receiver and separate speakers. its expensive. i love the sound but i definitely appreciate the reasoning to go with a sound bar.
i got all polk speakers and i really like how they sound. based on that i would jump on this sound bar if i wanted to go in that direction. its a great price and im sure it would sound really good.
it doesnt include a 3rd speaker right? the pictures show a speaker on a table with some sunglasses. i see it listed with other products at the bottom as polk assist.

I came here ready to recommend the VIZIO but the POLK sounds like it has more features with the built in voice control and both are neck and neck for accoladers per wirecutter.
I love being able to just tell my soundbar to blast some new jack swing with no remote controls. It's not just a cool feature but it conquers and issue I've always had with my stereos, it makes it possible for everyone in the family to use without needing to know which remote and which input the stereo has to be on.
Arc is the ish I didn't know about until after I bought the speaker. Besides less cables it allows my soundbar to control my tv. It may seem small but it's super practical.

one thing I will say is testing these out in stores is some bullshit. They are turned up so loud they all sound “good”
What I found is the sub woofer placement really impacts the experience. I had it in a few different spots and was underwhelmed.
Once we found the right spot.. dayum. Shit knocks.

Time to ditch the plasma TV for an OLED. Will mount it on the wall at some point, but I know I need to get some better sound from it. Finding a decent soundbar seems to be the best compromise for now.

lemme ask you a question (c)Von Pea...what type of shit you got connected? So, how I run mine is....I got the ARC HDMI from the soundbar to the tv...then I got my PS5 running to the soundbar. All I really want is to add some satellite speakers for a complete "surround sound", but through my internet research...there were only 2 models of satellite speakers that could be added to this soundbar and they are no longer made. Found some used ones on Ebay, but I'd rather just start over and cop a system that comes with soundbar, woofer and 2 satellite joints.

I will buy the real deal for my next TV and move this one to the bedroom.
At first I was underwhelmed with my woofer but I think I had it too far from the sound bar

I mean, it is a few years old at this point. I have pioneer avr that's ARC connected to a 65in LG. Along with 2 jbl shelf speakers and a klipsh 12in sub.
not sure I'll upgrade anything until I'm forced to.
side note: the magic remote for the tv is actually not bad, it's no a true universal. I still have to use the DTV remote for certain functions. I don't iike that, but oh well.
