im questioning my life choices right now...why is it so loud?
i was trying to convince trin to hold off on the remembrance post for you.
got my 3 feet high and rising record in on saturday, didnt know until sunday. i noticed it at the right time as the cowboys were in the middle of full suck. the record made my sunday okay.
i decided to order the sub, with the cash back on buying the rest of the stuff it ended up only costing $50 so yeah. getting that in today.
got aquemini and the chronic in last night. cool right? not exactly. i was expecting to get the 1998 pressing for aquemini, turns out it was the 2009 one. no wonder it was relatively cheap. really soured the listening experience. i messaged dude, he apologized and offered to refund the money if i want to return them. i asked him if he will do a partial refund instead. hoping he knocks off $5-10. if he would have said it was the 2009 pressing i probably would have still ordered but for $5 less than i did.
get the blu records in today too. hopefully those are not actually orang.
definitely getting pictures on any other records i buy used online. might stick to local for a minute.

i think there were like two songs i actually enjoyed listening to. i was thinking i was just in a bad mood. which pressing of aquemini sounds best?
edit: he replied back that he can refund me $10 so that would end up being $30 total for repress of the chronic and aquemini. the chronic looked super clean, jacket and LPs. aquemini jacket is a bit rough and LPs are clean.
I don't mess with ordering online.. one time I crossed the border and met a guy in a parking lot to do an exchange... that was all arranged online. so technically I placed my order online.

Lady friend I met in a FB music group is in town tonight. We've hung out in person back home..she even dj'd with me at an event..she brought her daughter and friend down here for the Steve Lacy concert. The venue is like..two miles from my house, so we're gonna hang while her daughter and nem are at the show.
Got my Little Simz "A Curious Tale of Trials + Persons" album yesterday (VMP). Can't wait to play it prolly friday night. Waiting on a Prince album from Belgium to get here..and an album I got for The Kids b-day to get here.
I'm not doing too well today folks.... feeling mad on edge... and the despair... oh the despair.... over nothing... I got no reason for being so down... I mean what work frustrations? c'mon give me a break.. I got a decent job and tomorrows payday.. lighten up.. plus tonight I'm going to see Christone "Kingfish" Ingram play.... so why do I just want to walk of into the ocean/woods/mountains/void?

unnecessary arguments over specifics when a simple answer would do.
debating how much effort to put into creating a solution to a request. was asked to create a form...not a problem. BUT why not make the form more useful by connecting it to other documents and avoid duplicate data and errors. over all response was meh, i just want a pretty form.
got the blu records in yesterday, didnt get a chance to even clean them. havent checked to see if theyre the pressings i expected.
got the sub in yesterday too. uhm why didnt anyone tell me they were this heavy?? the big ol box was sitting on my porch with the records on top. i reached for it like eh piece of cake ill just carry it in. uh nah. had to take the records in first then struggle with the sub lol getting it out of the box wasnt much better either. i thought i got a dud to when it wouldnt power on. turns out that a) i forgot to plug it into the surge protector b) the surge protector wasnt properly plugged in lol
this thing bumps. i used the set up mic for the receiver that is supposed to account for room acoustics. i set the sub to 50% power. it set the sub to -12db. i decided to tweak it to see what it could do. more than -5db was just ridiculous.
im debating if i should go ahead and make it a 5.1 set up. just need the surround. i might be able to just use the speakers from my old stereo for surround. trying to think how i would run the wires and where i could actually place the speakers is holding me back. i think im going to wait on that until i move.
i dont think i would ever do more than 5.2. all the rest seems excessive but i guess i didnt see myself getting a turntable, receiver, speakers and a sub in july either.

I talked with my great aunt today. a few months ago I had a dream about her I called she never today she did we spoke a good while sort of picked up where we left off a few years ago
she said I better get the information while she can still remember 85 yrs old so much history so my questions but I listened I am thankful for this day

Just tryna get my feet wet..haven't been in the company of a another woman in almost 20 years, so just trying to get comfortable took a little effort. It was cool though, we walked around this "upscale" shopping area, then went to this Irish bar for drinks, then just walked an talked some more. I'll see her again when I go home in a couple of weeks.
The Kid is 16 today...taking her out to dinner tonight.

Gonna beat the hell out of them. I need to finally get them tuned-up so my son can start practicing. Playing with a real drummer instead of a drum machine has me open now.
I think I'm over 9-5 office jobs. No point in complaining anymore. I know what I want, I just gotta go get it.
Been dressing like Zuckerberg every day... slim hoodie, jeans and sneaks. Completely checked-out of office culture bullshit. Glad I can get away with it in IT.
I look like I live under a bridge sometimes.... maybe not that bad... maybe... i can clean up but my beard alone right now has me deep into the realm of no fux to give.
