I recently started a podcast. It's called The J-Promo Podcast, and you can find it on iTunes, Spotify, Soundcloud and Stitcher. If you recall, I used to do a weekly Spotify playlist and post it on the boards. Since I talk about the new music that comes out each week, I started updating the playlist again as a companion piece to the podcast. The playlist is called The J-Promo Podcast Weekly. It's got all of the songs I discuss plus choice cuts from the albums I talk about, along with some other treats. It updates weekly along with the podcast.

Some backstory about how I got started (if you care):

I had really been struggling with some crushing depression especially as it related to my job. It was so bad that I was feeling physically ill when I went to work...to the point that I found myself outside of my office building with tears in my eye calling my best friends like "what can I do? i gotta get outta this shit."

With some good advice from those friends, and a lot of self examination where I even had to admit some hard truths about myself (aka owning my shit), I realized that part of the problem was that somewhere along the way of having a "career" and building a family that I stopped pursuing my passions.

So...this podcast comes from that. I've been a big fan of podcasts for years if you ever paid any attention to any podcast related post on the boars, and I've thought many times about starting one. So, I downloaded Audacity, bought a USB mic off Amazon, and did it. It was as much about just doing it - following through - as anything. I'm only two episodes in but I'm really enjoying it. It's helping me with the things I was dealing with (I also left that job and found a new job that I think will be a better fit for me).

Along with the podcast, I started working out and lifting again and as soon as I cop a new laptop (in a month probably) I'm going to bust out my MPK and start making beats again.

It feels good to feel like myself again.
