If a person wants a "hard to get" goal, the degree of "dissatisfaction" over how "hard" it is to get that goal will probably overshadow any degree of gratitude for "ordinary" things (life, health, an "okay" neighborhood)
So...
One could say that there is no "depth" to gratitude over "ordinary" things when a person wants a "hard to get" goal.
Some would say "nah, that's just not 'real' gratitude"....but it is...but the "dissatisfaction" is making that "gratitude" seem "...eh"
