basically it's a fighting/war game with building aspects so if you don't want them playing shooter games and such you may not want them doing this...

then like anything else I think you gotta make sure they don't get the credit cards and charge TF out of them to get whatever it is the game sells.

and it's online interaction stuff so you never know who you're dealing with on the other end... eh Trin... o_O

We're working on curbing my older son's time on the game. He really likes it. I wish he would put as much effort into getting better at other more productive things as he does on getting better at fortnite. It's not completely out of hand, but he really does like playing.

That game first got announced when battle royale wasn't even a genre (2011), spent years in development hell, finally released in 2017, almost nobody played it, another game that was way more realistic and unforgiving called PUBG was dominating gaming with its battle royale innovations, Fortnite straight up copied the mode and added it to their game about building structures and fighting zombies, a couple months later it's the biggest game in the world and two years later a 16 year old becomes a millionaire over night playing the game.

It's funny to think some people have been aware of that game in one way or another for nearly a decade but it's only been relevant, or even the game it's known for being, for under two years.

edit: me personally I don't get it, but I think it's style doesn't translate well to adults. Apex Legends is my shit though, it's been cool to see Desus & Mero keep shouting it out over the summer.

though I remember seeing all of that now that you lay it all out, it seems like a completely different game in my memory.

a losing battle though. My oldest is 11 and his friends have all been playing it - main reason I didn't want him to start is he typically plays PS4 with his little brother who is 5. I think 5 years old is pretty young to be playing shooter games. The online play element is something I'm still unsure of even for my 11 year old, but maybe I'm just being too strict.

its not graphic at all. No blood. More cartoony. Its a free game where they make their money on you buying the cosmetic upgrades. Its definitely a good game for the little ones. Overall its a terrible fucking game. But the kids like it. Also you can play with each other across all platforms. I DL'd it so I could play with my son. I was on xbox, he was on his switch, and a kid from his hockey team was on mobile. We were all in teh same game.

I keep hearing about fortnight dances so I assumed it was some sort of dance battle game. To hear that it's a battle battle game is a surprise.
