The character was incredibly obvious - a guy named Jordan Hayes who really, really liked massages. They must have had this character try to innocently explain his enthusiasm for three to four daily massages like four times in the episode. By the end of 60 minutes, the word no longer had a non-predatory-and-sexual meaning.
If I remember right (I actually re-watched a whole bunch of these about a month ago, but the conclusions never really fully register in my memory), the woman who was the Ghislaine Maxwell figure got a *ton* of jailtime in the episode, and it was strongly suggested that he'd get some cushy white collar sentence.
It'd be hilarious if they brought back the same actor. If I remembered the ending right, I bet they could keep the plotline pretty faithful to current events.

Suicide watch is not someone WATCHING you every second of every minute. SOMETIMES they strip you naked and shove you in a small cell alone with no way of hurting yourself - but most times its someone comes by more often to look at you.
Other than strapping this dude down 24/7 and literally paying the salaries of 2 or more people to watch (remember - people blink) him all the time someone might be able to find a way to kill themselves.

Sure, you can’t always prevent a prisoner from committing suicide, but in this case there is a lot to be suspicious about. I have no idea what happened, but if that NY Times article is true, it seems a little fishy.

But it seems pretty strange that someone with his profile and a previous suicide attempt wasn't being monitored to prevent this, especially when he was much more valuable to the overarching investigation alive than dead. This is only going to aid other offenders and diminish justice for the victims. And guess who's stepping in now to carry the investigation through? Old AG Barr, who we have already seen in action multiple times covering the asses of those in power.

Guards don't sit and stare at people 24 hours a day. There's no AI watching video feeds and setting off alarms.
Suicide watch is like being under the most invasive attentive watch and they check on you like once an hour.
And they take you off it if you are doing better because 1)It's a pain in their ass to watch inmates closely and 2)It's inhumane to the inmate for it to happen over any extended period of time.
Dude tried to hurt himself, they watched him more than normal for a while - then he seemed okay and they watched him less - then he killed himself.
Maybe people will understand how jails work after this - it's literally just locking people up and nothing else.
There's no conspiracy - you'll find that until the guards out number the inmates that all jail are places where inmates can hurt themselves or be victims of other inmates or guards.
It's legalized hell. And prison is worse.
Maybe you expected him to be restrained and in a medical induced coma with 12 people standing around him and watching every move forever???
Its not how jails or prisons work. They'd be A LOT more expensive if they had to staff up to give 100% vigilance to all inmates. (And trustees would be assed out.)

Sure, a ton of prisons don’t watch people 24/7 and there is always an opportunity for a prisoner to kill them selves
However, this inmate is TOTALLY different so all that nonsense he is speaking on is irrelevant.
All the mistakes made in this particular jail weren’t by accident. It’s a shame that some folks will blame prison guards or understaffing when we all know this case would’ve brought some serious damage to high ranking officials, money men and government leaders.

That hard time as a sexual predator and pedophile would've been the hardest time, so I don't doubt that could motivate him to suicide on its own.
But if he really did have some powerful co-conspirators, snitching could've been an option... if he could be sure he and those closest to him could be protected. You'd need vast personal resources AND the help of the government to do that.
He was a billionaire... but he'd be seeking protection by Trump's DOJ. If he had dirt on Trump but couldn't find a way to leverage it to protect himself and his folks, he could've still arrived at suicide being the only way out.
But I primarily believe he just decided he'd enjoyed his life and wasn't about to pay the repercussions for living it the way he did.
