Also finding a few movies on Netflix that have been good. Not great but good enough.

...unless you have the talent and professional skill set to WRITE and SHOOT a quality film. Otherwise, you'll end up owning a movie no one wants to see or cares about. Period.
Plus, I think most Hollywood black filmmakers are still treating black audiences as a monolithic group with the slavery/SJW/cross dressing comedy narratives.
I still haven't seen black hollywood go beyond that with storytelling in sci-fi, fantasy and adventure. Peele is doing good on the horror/psychological narratives. But he's still struggling with too many plot holes in his films. Once he's able to reconcile with that, Peele will be a force to be reckoned with.
Fuqua and DuVernay are probably the best at what they've been doing in Black Hollywood right now.
But as long as hollywood keeps giving money to people like tyler perry to shoot vapid, low brow, chitlin circuit movies, they'll continue to be seen as the standard, which is shameful in 2019.

Black Hollywood don't need to always have to make a so-called "black film" to be considered made by black hollywood, Black Panther & Get Out was a good example of what black hollywood can do if they stop trying so hard to make Madea & Wayans Brothers movies, yeah I love comedy movies but so times these movies try waaayyy to hard.
I also sometimes we feel that black people have to been in front of the camera for it to be a Black Hollywood type movie, our minds have been conditioned to what someone said how something should be so much that now we don't think outside the box anymore.

and i put TV in quotations because Netflix and Hulu, et al are not a part of the television industry.
you do not need a television to stream content. the "television" is almost obsolete...in 5-10 more years, they won't exist. Most of us watch shows on a monitor..
does your apparatus at home have an antenna that receives a television signal or does it come from a cable box? just saying...
