"30 days no alcohol challenge. July 31st is my birthday"

Either way you say it I’m still young and supple and full of life! So I figured I’d start my 30 days today since it’s the first day of my birthday month!

I’m low key hyped about it
Got a whole lotta things written down including how I viewed alcohol as a child. How I viewed alcohol when I first started drinking at 21 and how I view it now.

I actually went 21 days with no alcohol and then slowly got back into drinking again. Most of the time in a responsible way but enough that I realized I need something or someone to talk to professionally.
The longest I’ve gone since those 21 days has been maybe 5 days in a row.
This time I’m going for 30 and I start my therapy session in about an hour. I’m not going to lie I am very nervous. But I believe this is going to be a good step.

This is wonderful... I thought that I was correct on that.
Do you really feel that you need to seek therapy? Back in my late teens early 20’s I drank really heavy during that time in my life. When I decided to stop then I did. I know that some people need help (or therapy), and some don’t. My uncle couldn’t stop and died at 58.
Replace your nervousness with the task that you want to embark on. Stay committed to your goal and think about other things that you’d like to accomplish during these 30 days (and beyond hopefully).

At the time I had a weekly residency at a gastrolounge (free craft cocktails), a bi-weekly at a wine bar, and a monthly. All the bartenders were like "naaaaw....here..try this". That shit was rough. I had one bartender make me a "faux-ito" and it was the best thing ever. Between those and ginger-ales, I got by.
