... re: social/political activism more than just about any of the artists that brought us to this board save for maybe Kweli. And coincidentally those are the two artists who get the most shit from people, at least from the Soulquarian/Rawkus-affiliated artists.

That’s when I knew Common made it and was about to blow. It’s always the core fans who turn on their artist as soon as they get mass appeal. Fans get selfish as fuck when their favorites make it to the next level.

Black America Again was friggen excellent. The Dreamer/The Believer was a tad inconsistent but its highs were really high.

So he can still do it when he's motivated.
