She's gain a bit of wait. The thing is I don't care much, its not like she's gone to an extreme weight. The issue is she feels bad about herself.

When I started my workout routine, she wanted to join. Then after a few days, she says she can't cuz of something (bad night of sleep, period crams, stomach hurts, today my throat is sore). Ok thats fine, but then she gets upset because I'm still doing my workout. She's told me, I should do somethings else, something she'll like to do more. (she doesn't like it that I basically do the same workout every day)

I told her, I am doing what is working for me. You ask me to include you and I do. I wait for you to get ready and that is holding me up. I wake up early to do the work outs. I hate having to wait for her to get up (she literally takes 10-15 mins to get out of bed, she is not a morning person) I can motivate only so far, I can't move you body for you.

Its so annoying.

you doing it wrong
compromise up front with getting her in the gym consistently
change your workout
show her how to use machines
change time you go to benefit her
and if she remains interested...she will go on her own from her own habit
and you can get back to your own type of workout
my wife hired a personal trainer...and i would go with her
it wasnt my type of workout but i learned somethings and supported my wife
now she goes on her own...so does my MIL
and i go when i used to go and do what i do

To add to my first post. We aren't going to a gym. We have a home gym with free weights and yoga mats. Basically I'm doing calisthenics.

The thing is I am a morning person, she isn't. So I will give working out at night a try with her. I am willing to adjust my routine. I just don't like being held back cuz she delays starting to then say she doesn't want to.

additionally I replaced my breakfast with a veggie and protein smoothie. She doesnt want to replace dinner.

i've only ever met one chick down to workout on my level. actually she goes harder than me cause she's on that "rest when you're done" and i like to play on my phone between sets. that's my #1 gym partner, male or female.

every other woman, i just cater to what they want to do and get my real workout in after they leave. yeah it's a little soul crushing and dull for me. but i'd rather that, then have them do what i do and get discouraged and quit.

Planet fitness is low cost, not intimidating, and they have classes as well as free trainers.

realized all the squeaking is because the pads are worn out and need to be replaced.

Might have to keep this amazon prime. Buying parts and getting them shipped in a day or 2 has really saved me a lot of headache but I still need to justify the cost. Start buying more cleaning stuff and paper products online? Start getting more expensive Whole Foods fruit ordered to my door?

Start ordering more vinyl thru amazon and save in shipping cost?

🤔

Wife and I came up with a good idea for a little crafty side hustle for us. Will see how it plays out.

Ohhh, and these kids gone for 3 weeks. FaceTimed them last night and the oldest is chilling but my baby girl? Pout face. She does an amazing bottom lip pout. It’s impressive.

Still don't think we could trust either of our parents with these two for 3 weeks.

RE; Amazon prime & Whole Foods...
Do this...
Buy groceries at your normal spot this week....then buy the exact same thing from Whole Foods Amazon Prime Now next week and compare price. But the key is you gotta buy straight up foods, not a bunch of prepackaged stuff. I'm talking staple items, fruit, veggies etc.

Whole Foods is pretty much on par price wise with Giant, Trader Joe's and Harris Teeter up here.

I’m a bit worried but at the same time.

It’s a necessary evil.

That’s $1545.00 saved.

Kids know how to adjust and they are loved. It’s a win win.

I use their subscription service on furnace filters and dish washing pods. Saves me time - the pods thing is because my daughter does the dishes but doesn't let us know when stuff is running out until it runs out. There's always an extra set in there before it's gone now.

We could always just buy two at a time but there's a discount on the subscription stuff too.

and that’s just for videos.

I think it’s just paying it up front that seems expensive. But if we can cut down on trips to the grocery store or Walmart for random shit it’s worth it because that impulse buying is ridiculous.

Might pull the trigger and see how it goes. Thinking about all the times we DONT stop to shop just because the kids are tripping or how much time it takes when we have them or it’s just one of us.

13. "I dislike fake relationships at work, e.g. Lunch, Happy Hour, Wacky Shir..."
In response to Reply # 0

The team wants to have this ideology that we are together and supportive in every aspect of the business. And the team wants to do these lunch days together to promote transparency and team building. The team even likes to hang out after work for Happy Hour and get legit buzzed/drunk.

BUT, these jokers keep every conversation on the superficial work BS and NatGeo, Top Chef, Home Improvement nonsense. Like there is no real substantive conversation. It's all FAKE as Artificial turf - it just looks real until you get close and start talking. Jokes love these fake company community initiatives but no real conversation an out the issues that help to create the clothing drive or food drive. No talk about real issues that matter in the news or plain old life. Just Fake He-he-he and yada-yada-yada,, but we're all supposed to be transparent and cool. FAKE!

Even when my father and twins died, the support was fake. Sure my manager allowed me to take time off and work form the hospital or home. But these jokers didn't even get me a card, but have the nerve to ask me to join in on Hawaiian Shirt day and get salty when I don't do that Corney mess! FLICK a Wacky Shirt day, ol'fake azz mess.

Am I being sensitive? Yeah, I understand the politics, I understand this is work and not my inner circle. I understand that we ain't real friends, but stop trying to act like we're all down and expect me to fake it with you and get salty when I don't join in the pretend fake-boy nonsense.

RANT OVER!

I had to take him into a closed room and set him straight with the fact that I was close to helping him make friends with the floor. He thought that just because we talked every day about random mess and the fact he and his wife adopted a little black girl that we were cool like that. He was never comfortable around me again.

I've done the lunch occasionally and happy hours in the past. personally, I don't want to be that close to co-workers, but I don't mind being cordial. I prefer that actually. There's been a few co-workers in the past that I really connected with (mostly young black professionals bc I always seem to work around older, white folks).

All Black.

I have 2 who are white that I’m still text about sports every now and then but that’s it.

My white coworker right now is cool but not cool enough to kick it with after work.

Once the alcohol gets flowing tho at happy hour, I make sure to keep it real top layer. At most we will talking about parenting tips or simple shit but I avoid shit like politics or race. They tried to get me at the Christmas party but I didn’t take the bait.

i remember a few years ago, I went to a baseball game with a few folks from my office. The young Asian dude and the young white dude were off that Friday so those jokers were tailgating. I get to the game and white boy was LIT. I was chilling and one occasion he said "Man, get this guy a drink! He's too uptight". He said the other black dude looked like a 'black guy in a white dude's clothing'... At that point, I left my seat and walked around in the stadium before rolling out. I didn't want to have to fuck old boy up.

Like today is some BS shirt day and I didn't participate. The team is all in their feelings about the matter. Jokers had a never to ask me if I would go to the Wal-Mart or Target to buy a shirt to fit in. I Said, "Nah, I'm good."

So it’s just me because my wife had a show.

I was stuck with a Trump supporter who is no longer an employee. A husband with a thick country twang and another husband who is in the Army

They start talking about how scary Charlotte is now. Finally they admit it was the “riots” from a few years ago. I’m not having that talk with these people.

of the post.

Someone asked where AFRICAN had been and I didn't even think about him being in Sudan. I would not have joked if I had actually thought about that. It was this morning when I saw akon's post that I put two and two together.

This is my confession and apology. I hope he is well.

I really wish I had the skills of a software engineer. Those jobs pay well, and they're always vacancies somewhere. Plus, there's tons of full-time remote opportunities in that field.

The job application process is KILLING ME me. I don't understand folks who have a new job every year but job searching is for the birds, yo. This brings me to my "confession:"

* I’ve been telling folks I’ve been job hunting. Thing is, I’ve been aggressively researching companies, salaries and vaccines more than actually applying to the openings.
And once again, Mercury Retrograde is coming up in about three weeks. Dammit, and I’m not even into astrology like that but still…

Speaking of...I still want to relocate back to NYC, but a part of me thinks it’s too late. The city is getting too homogenized/too expensive, and people still leaving.

Meanwhile, it’s hard AF to make friends in your 30s, and I’m already socially-challenged. My window of opportunity has passed. Le womp.

You can be in your 20s and living foul and no one can tell the difference.

In your 30s you first start showing signs but can still turn it around.

But it is hard to hide in your 40s. If you ain't living right, how you take care of yourself and others, it will be all on display.

I went to a reunion recently and we all used to party and drink together. We were all the same.

In our 30s we first started to see some people were still going too hard and might have problems (bruh it's 10AM why are you pouring a drink?). Some of those folks turned it around.

See these people now and its on peoples faces and taking a toll in their relationships (first batch of divorces). Not too late to turn it around.

I was trying to tell some 20-year-olds about it and I was the old man of the group boo-hoo'ing a good time.

There are a lot of other examples.

I am aware that I come off as much more judgey than I use to (which is funny to me because I can still get it in).

But I also feel like I've seen so much of this all before. At least, they can't say I didn't try to tell them.

39. "A Tyler concert from a Black parent’s perspective"
In response to Reply # 37

Read this:
“Tyler the Creator: Black Mom Observations from the 4th Row of the “Flower Boy” Concert”
http://mybrownbaby.com/2018/02/tyler-the-creator/
Denene Miller, an Atlanta-based Black mom blogger and noted author, wrote this about taking her teen daughter and friends to his concert last year, and it was hilarious!

If you don’t want to read the entire entry, just peep this:

“...5. Continuing on this line of observation, I know the words to Tyler’s songs, too. And I was praying he wouldn’t perform “I Ain’t Got Time.” Not because I don’t love it: I bump that shit in my car because it’s a massive “fuck you” to those who work your nerves. The chorus, in part, goes, “I ain’t got tiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiime for these niggas.” Typical Black people shit talking. But in the mouths of white folk, those lyrics take on a different meaning, don’t they? “I ain’t got tiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiime, for these NIGGERS.” They damn sure do for me. And when Tyler silenced the music and told the crowd he wanted them to get hype AF on the next song, and then I heard the beat drop, I evil-eyed every white child within a 30-foot vicinity of me. Because dammit, what I was not fittintado was stand there and watch white kids awkward rapper dance while saying “I ain’t got tiiiiiiiiiiiiiime for these NIGGERS” at the top of their goddamn lungs. My evil squinty eye was of no use, though. They all said that shit. With gusto. WITH GREAT GUSTO. And I’m bothered by that. Clearly, Tyler is not. And I’m bothered by that, too. Like, you really got a stadium full of white kids saying nigger nigger nigger nigger nigger. TF?”

BOTTOM LINE: Be prepared if you going with her cuz these melanin deficient youths, yo....

I know that coming from wypipo it's essentially the same thing, but I would be surprised if it had the hard -er. I'm sure that's what her ears heard, but still. Most white people that choose to sing that word along at least sing it with the -a (at least in my experience).

about my job interview tomorrow. I applied for a different job doing the same thing at another organization back in March. Had two interviews in April, then didn't hear much from them until they called last week. Now I have a third interview tomorrow. I want this job, but I am scared. Seems like they want me too! But nothing is final until I get an offer.

My mood was just off today.
