Six American tourists have mysteriously died in recent months at resorts in the Dominican Republic. The FBI is helping local authorities investigate these deaths.
Robert Wallace traveled the world with his wife and friends say he worked hard and played even harder. But his niece said he fell ill almost immediately after drinking a scotch from the minibar at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino and was dead just three days later in April.

i dont know about all the negative news at the moment
i was there for about a month and traveled pretty much everywhere (santo domingo, san pedro de macoris, san cristobal, altagracia etc etc) and had the best time at boca chica beach
granted... i never did the resorts and this was a few years back. i would go again in a heartbeat.
. http://perspectivesudans.blogspot.com/ i myself would never want to be god,or even like god.Because god got all these human beings on this planet and i most certainly would not want to be responsible for them, or even have the disgrace that i made them.

I get people thinking twice, but the chances of something bad happening to you are pretty slim. Whatever happened at these hotels, they better not try to cover it up.

The DR is really fascinating. I think black people are drawn there because it has such a profound culture, beautiful people of all shades, hues and body types.
I have been twice and would like to go back once this crime dies down. I hope they an pull it together. But I don't think it is good for these islands to become too dependent on toursim any way.

my coworkers love them.
It sounds weird to me to be on a Disney inspired cruise but they say it’s great because the kids stay engaged so parents can do their thing.

didn't like it. weird vibe.
- very secluded/isolated resort - old white men frolicking on the beach with young thot locals -+ i nearly overdosed on pina coladas and banana mamas - didn't get the feeling they really liked americans - locals seemed plastic/fake/brainwashed - so much seaweed on the beach, they had to truck it out

First and foremost - they're always in parts of the country that are torn by poverty but OMGz look at the beaches. It feels gross.
Secondly - the food is BEYOND trash. It's garbage. My stomach took a week to recover.
Last is this point up above. They very clearly replace alcohol with god knows what to save money. I was in Mexico 2 years ago for a friend's wedding (never again), and the alcohol always tasted off. It also didn't really seem to work in the same way - I could drink 10 margaritas and barely feel a thing. One night, after drinking wine, I got violently ill in a way I hadn't before or since. I thought at first, MAYBE I just overindulged and this was a hangover or something - but it was not.
Shortly after I found out a few tourists had died and they'd seized thousands of liters of bootleg liquor in the same region I was staying in. So yeah, fuck these places for putting their guests in danger and taking advantage of the locals and their poverty. So disgusting.
