So like when you die and go to heaven, are you married to your first spouse? Your second? The one you were married to when you died? Does heaven have polyamory?
Or if your vows had "till death do you part" in them, are you single again? Chillin' in them ethereal clubs real hard without a care in the world?

And once your spouse dies and goes to Heaven, they're definitely NOT waiting for you. I feel like that Maya Rudolph/Fred Armisen Amazon show probably got it right.

the first 2 episodes kind of blew my mind. i went into it not know a thing about it. it kind of fell off towards the end but definitely an interesting idea.

And I think this very question is what led them to polygamy. I think if you pushed them on it, they'd still say that if a man had multiple marriages (chronologically separated, of course!), they'd say they all join in a polygamous marriage in the afterlife. The question of what happens if a woman's husband dies and she remarries, I imagine, is one they'd try to avoid.
(Of course any reasonable cynic would view the causation the other way around. Joseph Smith wanted more wives, and this was the argument he came up with for it.)

is I heard that the reason Mormon families should be big is to populate your planet in the afterlife. But let's say you have three boys and three girls. If they're all good Mormons, all of them will eventually get married, at which point the boys will all get THEIR own planet and the girls will be on their respective husband's planet. So then it's just the original couple (or their various sister-wives) on a whole planet for all eternity? Do they have more kids in the afterlife?
