"If you had a few mil to throw at a pet project...WWYD?" Tue Apr-30-19 10:00 AM by double negative
I keep thinking the world needs a black owned, black operated, adult film company featuring black people....kind of on par with the production quality of blacked.
shit is dire for black adult content.
say you had a few mil to start something, what you doing with it?

There should be something like it everywhere. Perhaps ran through a foundation, housed within in Community Colleges or public libraries across the nation, at low to no costs. https://bit.ly/2DIJtLz

A place for Black folk to get away on vacation but also recharge and let go of their stress/baggage.

just spit balling, but the high school kids I know kind of waver between two extremes - completely lost and wandering, or hyper focused and completely stuck on the HS grind.
I think it would be super beneficial to give them a space to talk about what they actually like, who they want to be, why they do the things they do, how to balance demands, how to maintain mental health... all kinds of shit.
So maybe a summer camp type of situation. Shit, maybe just a mentoring program. I'd love to find a way for us to create healthier adults.

Creating a new institution from scratch is too much work but millions of dollars to give to bright kids to send to institutions that are already established and doing it well? Best bang for the buck.
I think I would do Newark and few from my rural hometown in VA.

Focused on advocacy and policy--from local to national--legislation related to, and as an antidote response to, the very conservative police union's and the lack of Police accountability they promote.
Corporate members could be insurance companies, who underwrite policies that cover civil claims when cops shoot innocent people, and manufactures of non-lethal weaponry. While individual members might be anyone who's been unjustly infringed upon by Police. Membership fees would be tiered, and very low for individual members, like $10 a year.
Association Initiatives:
-Adding accountability, in an effort to end the poor cavalier abuses of power.
-Reducing small town police forces whose primary purpose is to write traffic tickets, but instead find themselves also harassing (Black) people. If those communities need the income, let them instead hire staff as unarmed traffic enforcement officials only. Allowing other larger county/state forces with greater oversight and training to handle the actual police work.
-Permanently banning bad and killer cops from ever working in the industry again.
-Creating national standards for on-going police training and testing.
