I feel there should be more. Would love to see a film studio doing indie stuff too. School me it's out there

Dru Ha is white and he's well know for being the owner. I don't know the other two but I don't know if it's like duck down it don't count

Yessuh...

Murs and I had this convo last year at Soundset... most people don't realize the longest indie running hip hop labels are black businesses... the assumption is that the fanbase often isnt so people aren’t in tune

E-40's Sik Wid It Records has been around since 1989. It had a distribution deal with Jive/Zomba for years, but I think it's back to being independent.

Does something like that count? If so..

I'm not a fan of most of the artists on Cash Money Records or their subsidiary label Young Money Records but yeah that's all owned by Birdman & his brother.

With Lil Wayne gone and is now signed straight to Universal Records, I know it's going to hurt the label some.
