I’m trying to have an open mind.

But the fact that this is Wade Robson bugs me.

I feel like MJ settling once and then the second time saying, “Fuck that, I’m fighting this otherwise they’ll always come after me for money” is very telling of MJs innocence. I feel like the accusers to this point have been horribly unreliable and not credible.

I also feel like I’d be a giant hypocrite in not giving credence to accusations though so...I’m not sure what I’ll do.

and the whole reason MJ even settled wasn't to quiet the accusations. it was so that he could have a criminal trial to prove his innocence. the judge granted a motion of trial preference to the accusers, and they wanted a civil trial. the conditions of the settlement expressly stated that it was not done as an acknowledgement of guilt and that all allegations are denied.

>I also feel like I’d be a giant hypocrite in not giving

this is why it's a dirty game. no one wants to be the asshole who says "you're a liar" when it comes to sexual abuse. especially not nowadays. no one wants to get it wrong.

however, the allegations here, especially presented out of context, are dubious. it's meant to be triggering, and gross you out, and the reason they can get away with it, is because of how Michael Jackson lived.

he may have had innocent intent, but when you are a public figure, "what it looks like" carries the most currency. that's why people who commit crimes like these hide behind acts of "respectability". that's why Oprah has been deployed here IMO.

the thing with Mike is, I never wanted to be the kind of fan who blindly declares him "innocent" and presume to know how his mind works. the possibility of him being R. Kelly has been open to me for years. but the truth of the previous allegations, coupled with the history of Robson/Safechuck, plus the rather irresponsible reporting on all of this matter in the press, the countless testimony of people who do know him, were at Neverland and were in those sleepovers, famous and otherwise, who say he ain't do shit? just cats more than reasonable doubt over his supposed guilt.

but because MJ didn't play the game of "what it looks like" public opinion will be split on this matter.

it's like he's inverse Cosby.

Yes, I'm mad. Let's move on.

this is what I was told from inside source

so Jordy's dad (93 case) was one of the 4 screenwriters of "robin hood men in tights". for his day job he was a dentist. the relationship w the dad and his family was already estranged (separated at the time?)he gets wind of his son's bff (mike and team driving to Neverland Ranch in van and caught a flat, AAA takes them to nearest garage. MJ of 1991 cant just casually walk in the spot so they hid him in office in back in which jordy happened to be there ---was chilling there after school til family came home. the bond happened over the fact jordy had the brand new Sonic game in which MJ was a known obsessive. so instant BFF time) so this whole time mike is casually stunting trying to adopt families and whatnot (I really understand this maneuver ---there was a period I was on the outs w my own fam and my pre therapy mind was like "you know what....ill just chill with The Smollets or go to Mya & PTAs crib---so I imagine in his mind he could get his vicarious family thing on by taking the whole squad on tour etc etc---just speculating.....

anywho....

pops gets word that MJ is alway at the crib and suddenly wants to step in and insert himself fucking up the vibe. mostly to pitch and coax mike into taking his script to the head of Sony pictures (backstab move one, see an opening and leave your team in the cold) shit was getting awkward and mike's peeps had to fall back some. like stop hanging and treating them to fun stuff for like a week or two. so of course his wife and jordy were like "YOURE RUINING IT DAD!!!!!!!!!!!"

his ego cant take that so he feels some sort of way, so after he got the definitive finesse (whole family went to euro Disney sans dad---he was like thats it.

but his "thats it!!" wasn't "you aint about to be the dad of this family!!!" it was "IF YOU DONT TAKE MY SCRIPT ILL MAKE YOU REGRET IT!!!!!!"

so they aint taking this seriously and he sends some threat veil insinuation......

so I believe this is when mikes team suggested the "Hollywood fixer" person (I believe the dude who Ray Donovan is based on)----

so where it gets tricky is in 1991-92 you cant do shit as easy as it is now. I can borderline give the right nerd 4 tix and maybe $500 bucks and hack into someones ish if I was dirty. but back in 92?? you might have to break into someones crib and place bugs and god forbid have a bat on standby on some reservoir dog tied to a chair scene shit.

so what happens next is sketchy, they already had him ON TAPE confessing to scheme an accusation ("I don't care ill destroy him, ill say he molested my son!....teach them to fuck with me!!!!!!!") talk like that.

tapes aren't amicable in court.

so to really double up, "some friends of ours" roughed up the dad, got him to admit he made it up (including taking jordy out of school and giving him a dental checkup and gassing him and telling him "Michael Jackson touched you inappropriately" drilling that into his narrative.

--side note: Chapelle season 3 had a great sketch on this very premise that never came to be based on Black People saying "NIGGA ILL FUCK YOU UP!!" vs white people "Ill Sue Your Ass!!!!!!!!"

I don't know how this situation/confrontation ended but I do know

Jordy's dad was like "oh I really got yall now!!!!!! attempted murder!!! strong arming!!!!! yall really going to jail now!!!!!!!!!!!"

MJ: said "make it stop!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

so a draft was written

MJs team will stop the harassment and not sully the good standing of Jordy's dad or jordy by saying he extorted us and lied---thus ruining what's left of Jordy's life, who incidentally emancipated himself from the family at 16 and ran away to Europe never to be seen/heard from again.

Jordy's dad promised to stop the "attempted murderer!" stuff.

mike gave the money as good measure.

fun fact: Jordy's dad committed suicide 10 days after MJ passed.

my inside info on this situation rings the same (again from insiders) ---so I cant get into details.

but there are a GAZILLLLLLLLLION receipts w Wade

(wade even once "hypothetically" overused the scenario "man you know how easy it is to just lie and say you did it?" on some Spike "Giant" Lee "I WONT SELL IT!!!!!!" Mo Betta Blues shit----like what 17 year old keeps telling the family that over and over----like pondering the millions he missing out on just to prove a point of loyalty?)

anywho.

I think it’s more likely that’s the reason for people thinking he’s a monster. I haven’t seen the documentary and I don’t know what he did, but there are legitimate reasons for people to think he was capable of doing these things. I don’t think it’s because he had surgery on his face.

But from what I've read, it's bullshit

FBI went through neverland with a fine tooth comb and had MJ under surveillance since then

= nothing.

I hope we get a doc detailing that and the court cases

Beyond the far-fetched sounding single perspective tales, It's poorly produced, so much so I question why HBO purchased it. The only answer I can come up with is a conspiratorial one.

...How are you guys managing to justify the fact that he admitted on national television that he slept in bed with young boys and administered alcohol to them? Like, this is what's really tripping me out about this hoopla surrounding this documentary: this man went on television in 2003 and admitted to some very disturbing shit that the public seemed to write off at the time as "poor guy, he's certainly peculiar but you can chalk that up to never having a proper childhood".

How many of you have kids? Would you let your kid sleep in a bed with MJ? I wouldn't.

again, I am not here to make excuses for the way MJ lived his life.

he didn't say that alcohol shit, however. you ain't got to LIE.

and NO, I would not allow my children to sleep over with people with whom I did not know, less of all adults.

that doesn't change reality and what's actually happened.

Sorry, maybe I am mistaken, but wasn't that the reason we kept having to hear about "Jesus Juice" for the past however many years? Either way, sleeping in a bed with kids, especially kids that aren't yours, is enough for me to say that man ain't right and is probably not worth defending. That's not acceptable behavior regardless of if everything else people have said in this post is untrue. WHY he admitted to sleeping with the kids in that 2003 interview, lord knows. I mean, the fact that he was so forthcoming with that information leads me to believe that he honestly didn't see anything wrong with it.

Jesus Juice was an allegation and since became a meme, but I don't think MJ ever advocated for it. that would be way too crazy.

as said below: that is the one thing I will never defend Michael on, and the chief reason I don't fault people for thinking he's pedo.

I only deal with the actual allegations and the cases, and thus far, all of them have been weird in a way that casts doubt on whether he actually committed crimes.

Yes, I'm mad. Let's move on.

You see how fast shit goes from I SAW HIM ON TV AND He SAID....to you being mistaken.

It happens all the time but I just want you to sit back for a second and realize how damaging that is and how often that shit gets spread around. See how easy that is?

That’s all I gotta say about that .

Where did I say I saw him on TV? Also, I admitted I was mistaken about that. What else am I supposed to do? Dig him up and apologize to his corpse?

not pull shit out your ass without some semblance of fact-checking

doc has this all covered

i get why people assume he was pedo bc for most...smoke = fire

but a lot of bs gets spouted and all people have to say is "oh, my bad...mistaken"

i'd agree his behavior was suspect but the investigations have been thorough and exhaustive

dude had issues but didn't appear to victimize anyone

1. During his trial more than 1 of MJs staff testified against him, including his maid who claimed to see him and Robson in the shower together
2. He had secret rooms and alarm bells to notify him of anyone coming

3. He admitted to sleeping in bed with young boys and he was doing this for years

4. Michael had a penis. Yes, I said it. He was a grown man with a penis; most likely with blood circulating in high volumes when he became excited.

5. Who the fuck puts themself through this type of high profile documentary knowing the death threats and backlash they're going to receive from MJ's die hards if it wasn't true?

6. He paid millions in hush money.

7. MJ was most likely abused as a child also. This was confirmed by Latoya back in the day but that whole family harbor some serious secrets that will never get out. By the end of his life Jo Jackson was being portrayed as a saint, despite multiple claims of terrible abuse on his kids, including sexual abuse of Rebbie and Latoya.

8. 2 Boys previously accused MJ.

9. HE SLEPT IN BED WITH MULTIPLE BOYS FOR MANY YEARS.

Nah, dude is guilty. But I listened to 'Ben' today and cried for the child who sang that. MJ had a really tough childhood and he was the epitome of talent. Just a defenseless shining star who lived in fear of a bully father and had nothing resembling a normal childhood.
I was a die hard fan but I believe he molested those boys, and most likely many more.

no contest. this is a bad look

not sure why this is particularly relevant

there was a guy named Jussie Smollett in the news recently...

it wasn't "hush money". hush money would have prevented allegations from happening in the first place. he paid a civil settlement.

possible

1. civil case settled, criminal case grand juries did not indict. tapes came out that suggested it was an extortion plot.

2. not guilty on 14 accounts in a fair trial, witnesses for the defense identified the family as one that targeted them for grifting/extortion.

>9. HE SLEPT IN BED WITH MULTIPLE BOYS FOR MANY YEARS.

and if that narrative is to believed - also with girls. again, a bad look if it is true.

I'm not going to fault you to come to this conclusion, given the information you had. but I'm on the side of "reasonable doubt" with the door open for him possibly being there because the looks of it all is bad. the facts of it all defy my preconcieved notion though

Yes, I'm mad. Let's move on.

It seems that people prefer to see Michael as an eternal child. Someone who didn't have the mental or physical capacity to be a sexual being who might have gotten a hard on while sleeping in bed with kids while they brushed up against him in their sleep. 'Cuddling' is the main word people seem to cling to for dear life. Micheal just needed a cuddle to comfort him from the nightmares of his volatile past. But he had a grown man's penis and I presume it functioned. I'm not a man so I won't presume to know how that feels.

this is why I don't fault people for thinking how they do, and why the concept of sharing a bed with children is inappropriate. it could unintentionally turn sexual even if there was no sexual intent. I'm just not 100% clear how much "sleeping in the same bed" ever happened, and when. I've honestly not really looked into all of that too much beyond how it paints him as a person.

Yes, I'm mad. Let's move on.

childhoods, the genius, the nostalgia, the fact that there has never been another to do what he did as far as pure talent and hit after hit.

Most fans are just outright unwilling to either watch or believe in this and will make any excuse under the sun to refute the obvious.

It's sad but I get it. This hurts.

Ummmm yeah he did that shit. Come on. At least watch the whole thing.

Going into it I didn’t really remember that much about it as I was pretty young when all the allegations came out and not really old enough to have experienced peak MJ. I thought maybe he did it or maybe he was just that weird. But this was pretty convincing. I also thought the stories were just plain interesting.

admittedly I'm assuming, as I haven't seen it yet

...but...based on what's been offered on this board in reaction

this is not a documentary on the Michael Jackson child molestation allegations

this is a documentary of 2 accusers child molestation claims against Michael Jackson

...that is...

Have you ever seen a documentary that doesn't cover the entire topic?

Folks should be convinced after watching it

Do you see any issue with leaving out information that would cast doubt on their stories?

For example, the forbes article points out a lot of issues with just these two guys stories that went unaddressed.

https://www.forbes.com/sites/joevogel/2019/01/29/what-you-should-know-about-the-new-michael-jackson-documentary/#1626cdaf640f

So even if the scope was limited to these two accusers. It's not a full picture.

TBH, I have a hard time calling this a documentary for that exact reason

It has a goal, and that is not to present the story in an objective context

The goal is to try these accusations in the court of public opinion

That's why I said, people should be convinced after watching it

have serious issues.

There’s been too many shitty excuses:
“Go after white celebrities.”
“He’s dead already.”
“They just want money.”
“The parents...l

Blah blah blah.

If you believe everything or most of what was said, he’s a fucking psychopath piece of shit.

If you believe at the bare minimum what has been proven true and he has admitted to, sleeping in bed with children, he’s a sick piece of shit.

I’m not mad if you listen to his music, but I know I can’t without hearing and seeing what I saw. It is what it is.

The story is complex. It’s about a sick pedophile who was one of the most famou people ever who was probably abused as a child and could get away with just about anything.

Mixed with families who believed MJs mythology and were drunk off the celebrity and fame being near him provided.

It’s sad.

No way around that.

I've noticed a lot of people seriously impugning cats or WORSE for having a differing opinion on this topic. regardless of their rationale, while also espousing a viewpoint that is clearly not fact based in the slightest, only using conjecture and uncorroborated stories as their underpinning.

I would only agree if your reasoning is like "he had no childhood", or "he made Thriller", or something else something ridiculous.

but WHAT does someone accused of a crime, any crime have to do to prove innocence after a not guilty verdict (that doesn't have an OBVIOUS procedural botching)?

and in this particular case? there has been a lot of verifiable lies about MJ printed as fact. details left out to paint a particular narrative.

why do we immediately believe anything that has not been passed through a rudimentary investigative filter?

with Kells there were tons of tangible receipts that point to his guilt. we found this out not just from being told he did the shit, but people going in to confirm that he did the shit.

With Cosby, that door blew wide open when so many stories that sounded exactly the same came out, and his own words were revealed after a request to unseal his court case. we found this again, not just by being told. but because we got more information from an investigation into what actually happened. both accounts.

With MJ? as bad as he looks? fortunately for him, there always been something around the situation that allows for doubt. no one was scrutinized more. and his shit is public record.

I'm not even saying this as a fan, because I mean, there are artists I like way more. but something has always rubbed me the wrong way about his allegations, how they're reported, and part of it is the reaction from those who believe his guilt. some of it MJ caused himself, to be sure. but too many people LIE when they don't need to. and way too many people lean on circumstantial bullshit.

by this standard, the nigga down the street could be holding lil girls hostage on some R. Kelly shit just because he got a white commercial van parked in his driveway.

nah, dogg. I need to see someone investigated, every time. Mike was, at least twice. and for 10 years without his knowledge with random raids.

and if you know what the two who are featured of this film did prior to this film being made (which most viewers don't), then it REALLY starts out on a doubtful note.

so it's totally possible to have a non "dum-dum" rationale for believing in MJ here.

this is the problem of this film. they just put these dudes on the screen and had some air shots, and filled the sandwich with gross out pedo stories to move the viewer a certain way.

as said in another thread: there are no winners.

on one hand: MJ could be a child rapist who ruined some lives.

on the other: these dudes could have weaponized the MeToo social moment to get a payday and Jussie everyone in the process.

this film will not convince anyone that wasn't already convinced either way.

this doesn't even HAVE to be about MJ. it could be a nigga on a podcast with a similar history. I just find it WILD that people can convict someone without evidence or an investigation first.

full disclosure: first one of you niggas who come for me for typing all this? can suck my dick. and meet me in Temecula.

Yes, I'm mad. Let's move on.

MJ has admitted to sleeping in a bed with little boys. That’s at the lowest end of all allegations.

If someone is okay with that, that’s on that person if they think there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that.

what's being alleged is much, much more than that. and when that has been alleged, thus far that's never been proven.

and it wasn't a technicality. that shit would have been straight up caught well before now.

Yes, I'm mad. Let's move on.

I had no idea how this kind of sexual trauma affects people at such a young age. Which is why I started reading more from people who were sexually abused as kids and have explained why victims will sometimes defend their abuser or repress memories until later in life. After reading some things by people familiar both with child abuse patterns and the particulars of MJ's history, it seems clear to me that MJ was grooming these kids in at least a romantic way (if not explictly sexual).

There were alarms set up in his room that let him know if someone was coming. And multiple people have claimed he would lock his room when some boys would sleep over. Police also found books when they raided his house, which was behind a secret vault with pictures of naked children. The title of these books were all about the "beauty" of young children's bodies. Technically, these were not pornographic (since they weren't engaged in sexual acts) and some can still be ordered/found on amazon today. There was also a polaroid of a naked blond child, who they believed was one of the first kids Michael groomed: Jonathan Spence.

I suggest you read the link below about him. That kid remained fiercely loyal to MJ, but the few early interviews he gave were just weird (like a victim defending his abuser). Some of the pictures with these kids are so innappropraite. There is one where he slyly has his hand on one of these boy's thigh while he is taking a group photo on some set.

I was aware of Spence because of his request for deposition in the Robson civil trial. and I will say.... those pictures do NOT look good. even with the name of Victor Guiterrez (who has ties to NAMBLA, and whose book about the 1993 allegations caused him to get sued for defamation, is highly cribbed to write Safechuck's story)

if he had come forward with an accusation, I'd be inclined to believe it just because this is the kind of receipt in context I'd be looking for. and the denials seem in line with what Robson/Safechuck portray in the film.

the books, the alarm are whatever. the above are the kind of receipts I'd need to see to change my mind. or at least push it in the other direction.

it's said that that nude picture didn't actually exist but was alleged by one of the witnesses of the prosecution. I can't see it NOT existing and not being put into evidence... that would have been the smoking gun for sure.

Jackson was regularly paranoid. They found a fan hiding in the house so alarms had a point.

Also, there was NO secret vault of pictures of naked children. For more detail, here are some links

I wouldn't trust those quotes that are attributed to Spence. The "interviewer" is Victor Gutierrez
who wrote the book, "Michael Jackson Was My Lover" that came out in 1995. Much of the book was discredited. He was also behind a lot of the brokering of deals with the tabloids for Jackson's ex employees who were also exposed as liars. He was sued by Jackson, lost and then fled the country. He also sold a story to Hard Copy saying he had a tape of Jackson abusing a child. It was proven false

found the song Human Nature to be hard to listen to in recent years. When I find myself singing along with it I feel uncomfortable.

Why, why, tell 'em that it's human nature
Why, why, does he do me that way

apparently, he never got around to sending it to them, and ended it up releasing it as "I Like The Way You Love Me"...yikes. It's a pretty great pop song (esp the remixed version below), but after hearing these details the childlike lyrics about how he likes the way they touch and hold him is creepy

In response to Reply # 87

Quincy was talking about how he didn't give others songwriting credits during Off The Wall, even though he knew they contributed to it. As in, they both knew it was some cold blooded shit when it went down. He was also really smart. In that he didn't just like childlike things. He had great taste in art/furniture and was keen on knowing all the technical details of whatever he was filming or the logistics behind performing. Some of these business arrangements he came up with were so shrewd. He studied with an artist/designer to create A LOT of art, which he was working with Disney to produce prints of; he could then sell these to fans and use the proceeds for a children's hospital (and to construct a giant monument of himself...). But Disney put this on hold during the early 90s allegations. His collection of art, which was mostly stuff he made himself, was valued for almost 900 million dollars (largely because of its potential to produce prints of the originals).

>good businessmen are and arent child rapists

no, the correlation was that shrewd, esp cutthroat, buisnessmen cannot be childlike. And if that is the defense that people use for why he isn't a child molestor, then it's not a good one

>one of the most famous men in the world whose whole brand was

that is exactly the implication I am trying to make, which I wouldn't believe was even possible until I read about how Jimmy Saville used his charitable giving as a smoke screen to abuse hundreds. Now with that said, I don't think MJ was a Jimmy Saville type of abuse. He was more of the NAMBLA variety, and had a romantic interest in the boys he groomed.

bruh, i'm still trying to piece all this shit together myself. I made my case in post 70, and even that produced two replies with more counter evidence I am still making my way through. but in one of the links I gave, there are at least three pictures of MJ with one of these kids. i gave MJ the benifit of the doubt for years, but the way he has his hand on the very upper part of that kids thigh is fucking gross

That's how you refute actual arguments made here about why are the boys changing their story now.

But I do have a question, are the two new accusers claiming "recovered memories" or they are saying they were hiding it all along?

their reasons were similar to the girl's in the article.

they get into that more in the oprah after show thing.
the only thing that felt shaky was Robson's reasoning for trying to get paid a few years ago. his explanation for it was some vague word salad

Again, at least watch it with an open mind before you shit on it.

Even if you take MJ out of the equation much of the reason it was so compelling is that it details the same thing in that article regarding child sexual abuse and its effects. It's not so black or white (sorry). I never really thought about it or realized the full impact it would have.

Even the Kelly thing had moments where folks could pretty easily be leaving things out of the story to try to keep the picture painted as desired. IE: Sparkle's existence with Robert was pretty cliff noted. She had a whole mini career with dude. You have to figure she knew something at some point before the niece thing. And holy moly if she got down with him too as it is being assumed and suggested elsewhere.

The bad news is clear: R Kelly knows the truth cuz he was there for all of it! And he won't tell it. Well, at least not on purpose! He's dumb enough to keep talking enough to give us glimpses into his possible doings.

So far, it is clear that he's fine with having multiple girlfriends at once. He sees it as no big deal. He won't answer questions about being 'controlling', but that seems pretty clearly established as well. And duh, he married Aaliyah, so there's no way he can comment on that without admitting to something that is somehow illegal.

never mind the presenter's style. focus on what's shared (including scenes from the actual film)

there was more proof in this video (and a bonus for me, total annihilation of BEN SHAPIRO, LOL) than what was in 4 hours of that film.

and the thing is: this guy does NOT strike me as an MJ fan in the least.

why is it, if Mike did this shit... do people have to lie about it? Even the dumb little things that seem so inconsequential. there's always a lie. always. people get caught trying to correct them.

and that film was full of them. juxtaposed against the actual scenes from the film.

even shit I have NO idea how this dude managed to dig up... I mean, fucking Limbaugh clips? LOL

I thought that there might be something to Safechuck's story even though his lawsuit had reason for doubt... but goddamn, even that motherfucker is lying dogg

and the thing is, people will point at this guy as some "basement dweller with a tinfoil hat" even though he supports everything he states with clear, verifiable evidence.

unlike... Leaving Neverland.

when the presenter wound it back to 1993 for the purposes of shooting down some of the deflections you know are coming.... he had the articles up, he had the videos of the police up, he had all of this up.

you show this to someone and they're like

"but would you let your kids sleep in his bed tho"

I'm like "Nigga, you know the answer is no. Stop being stupid".

if a 4 hour film can be taken down with hard evidence by people who aren't fans in 30 minutes or less... and no one can do the same for others in similar situations. you can't throw "oh, he ain't watch".

the best thing Kellz stans have (esp. regarding the women of age): "they chose that"

Cosby Stans (including Cosby himself, if you've heard some of the shit he's been communicating from prison) are like "he tried to buy NBC", "he was a political target".

if there's one thing I've learned about MJ, is that reality defies perception. and that's been proven true up until this point.

I thought the vitiligo thing was bullshit. then I learned more about it. then the autopsy proved it.

I thought he "paid off" to evade charges. turns out the dad tried to extort Jackson, MJ said "fuck you", filed a civil case (despite the preference of the LAPD and Jackson's legal team to go criminal), Jackson's plea for delaying the civil suit was denied, and he HAD to settle so that the criminal case would not be tainted. dudes got their money and were ghost. 2 grand juries refused to indict (to correct an earlier statement, the pictures weren't entered into evidence... and I think it's because they didn't match the way the prosecution say they did. again, an autopsy tends to vindicate MJ in that regard... pause)

and the 2005 case, the one I thought finally would nail him, was a poorly reported case of a grifting family trying to get money out of a dude they got close to for a PR stunt he was putting together to rehab his image or whatever the fuck.

and like the Smollett situation, if this gets exposed the way it should (I think corporate and identity politics will prevent it from happening but I could be wrong), this is gonna AGAIN put ammo in the "bad guys" hands again.

Susan Smith.
Jussie Smollett.
hell, you could even say JonBenet (they OJ'd the parents IMO)

this is the same shit. and in the most hopeful scenario (for MJ fans and family affected by this charade), motherfuckers are gonna come back years later with a tepid "my bad" and pretend this shit ain't happen.

but those they pointed out? oh, they enabling pedophiles. they love the glove. they can't let go of Motown 25.

I haven't watched the Cosby Show in a long time... it used to be one of my favorite background noise TV shows. I only reference my memories now. I barely even do the "Cosby voice" which was one of my staples.

SUCK
MY
DICK.

this could be Stevie Wonder, my ACTUAL favorite, and I'd give the same time of day... if things like this came out.

"where there's smoke there's fire" position. At the same time, as a big fan of the man's music and career, in the back of my mind there was always lingering doubt. Largely because none of what he was being accused of (primarily the charge of being a "relentless, calculated predator" didn't fit what I knew about him via interviews, etc. But "what I knew about him" was admittedly only what I had seen over years of following him sort of peripherally, I never really dug deep into the details of the accusations, the trials, etc. Until recently.

Yea and I won't watch this film. This is a tough situation for me from an ideological standpoint. Because on one hand, I am vehemently pro-victim, in that I'm *alwys* urging people to believe victims until proven otherwise. Because for so long, victims of rape, child abuse, etc. have been ignored and destroyed. i.e. the #metoo movement, huge proponent and ally of that movement.

But on the other hand, in a case like this, here's two victims telling a story, yet there seems to be a MOUNTAIN of evidence to dispute what they're saying. It's way, way more than just "why'd they wait so long to tell their story" which is, IMO, such a weak defense absent other contradictory evidence. So while my natural inclination is to believe victims no matter what, this situation has way way way too many red flags (to use a term the dude in this video used) for me to just blindly believe these dudes.

Yea that's what's so remarkable about this entire thing (in addition to his linguistic gymnastics ... holy shit that dude can turn a phrase): everything he said was backed by solid, concrete evidence. Not just word of mouth, not just some unverifiable information, but hard, near-indisputable evidence. Like he's not just persuading you, he's leaving you no option but to be convinced that everything we've seen and heard over the years has been total and complete horseshit.

One of the more convincing parts of the 3 parts of this dude's rant was when Aphrodite was talking about how she wanted to write a pro-MJ book post-acquittal and she was *literally* silenced by the entire publishing community. That shit was fucking MINDBLOWING. For starters, it's wild that all publishers banded together/conspired like that against one person for reasons unknown. But another shocking aspect of that was how they framed it as a financial decision; like the publishers decided to silence pro-MJ folks because they were pissed that they didn't get their "the King of Pop is a pedo" story to publish worldwide. But wouldn't a pro-MJ book, specifically post-acquittal, be nearly as profitable ? MJ has RABID fans all over the fucking world. I can't imagine how anything about him wouldn't have made them money.

Disgusting, deplorable behavior by the publishing companies if that story is to be believed.

>you show this to someone and they're like
>
>"but would you let your kids sleep in his bed tho"
>
>I'm like "Nigga, you know the answer is no. Stop being

Yes. I don't think any pro-MJ person has ever disputed the fact that MJ was a strange motherfucker who didn't do himself any favors by how he handled his time w/children. So that attempt at deflection is sort of irrelevant. The parents of these kids share a ton of the blame for this entire thing, to varying degrees.

Yea. It's truly a tragedy how this man was treated throughout his life. He gave the world plenty but I think, as impossible as it sounds considering all he DID do, that he had so so so much more to offer the world but was handicapped from doing so by various institutions, whether due to greed, jealousy, fear, or what have you.

this dude is objectively annoying. i didn't need to mention his race or gender, but I am sure they are contributing factors to his insufferableness. now if he could make these points in text or just edit himself out, then I would check out what he has to say.

the mental gymnastics of MJ super fans is akin to the worst of Trump supporters. MJ groomed children. These are facts. He had pornography out in the open for these children to read. They found one of the accuser's fingerprints on one of the magazines. This is grooming behavior. He gave expensive gifts to these parents and groomed them too. These are also facts.

His own fucking sister Latoya thought he did it and they tried to paint her as crazy too. When I watch these old interviews of her from 1993, it's clear to me that she wasn't crazy at all. She was very lucid and forthcoming about what she did and didn't know, and unlike everyone else, was willing to connect the fucking dots: because she grew up with MJ, knew what went down in that family, and knew how these patterns of sexual abuse play out.

If there was proof that MJ was actually asexual or physically unable to have erections/orgasms, then that would be one thing. But there isn't. In fact, there is a lot of proof that MJ was far from the innocent and child-like person he portrayed to others. And that he actually had sex, when he needed to for PR. He fucking groomed Lisa Marie Pressley too (from 2003 interview):

“First of all, he’s not stupid. He didn’t get to where he was by being stupid. It’s unfortunate that not a lot of people know who he really is because he doesn’t let anybody see it. He has an idea of how he should represent himself to the public which he thinks works for him, which is that sort of meek, victim, quiet thing that he does,” Presley said.

“He wants to lock into you and he wants to intrigue you and capture you, and whatever he wants to do with you, he can do it. He’s very capable of doing that.

“I fell in love with him, I did. Everything I said was the truth.”

those are not also facts. those were claims by prosecution in criminal cases, not proven in court.

the magazines entered in evidence were given to the accuser (who handled them w/o gloves) during grand jury hearings, bagged up and sent for analysis. that's why there were fingerprints on the magazines.

"they" might have, but Latoya recanted that statement later, and claimed she was pressured to do so by Jack Gordon, her abusive and criminal ex-husband. the same one that had her sell stories to tabloids for money.

look at the interviews she gave around then yourself. They tried to destroy that womans life after she spoke out. You have to be a gullible fool if you buy that "my abusive husband made me" shit. Did her abusive husband also make her lie about how Joe molested her and her oldest sister? She recanted because she would rather be in the family's good graces. But that whole fucking family was in denial, which is typical in abusive families. Shit, look at old Janet interviews where she refuses to call Joe anything but a strict parent, and how that changed within the last decade.

Like I said, Cult 45 levels of mental gymnastics.

EDIT: Also, who the hell is Kelving? Some other poster you think I am pretending to be? I mean for what exactly, to rile you up because I know you are an MJ fan?? Grow the fuck up dude. And if you have children, I pray none of this shit happens to them because their dad was too willfully ignorant to notice grooming behavior.

I know who I am. people in here know where I'm coming from.

and I don't cop pleas for pedos, I only deal in facts when it comes to this topic. you parrot prosecution arguments which failed like the Fyre Festival in court when they had ALL the keys to victory, present them as facts, then get MAD when said "facts" get checked.

really: I'm gonna hand off my kids to some stranger because I don't believe this bullshit about Michael Jackson?

if I played the game of extrapolation that you do, I'd say you read the "MJFacts" site years ago (and judging by some of your cited sources and your bad-faith response to information counter to your pre-conceived notion, the probability of this is high), came into this thread trying to drop a bomb, and then got your ass ate like them two dudes claimed MJ did them in that bullshit film... LOL

Is it "mental gymnastics" ? Or is it just an honest interpretation of the information that we have ?

Your claim is that MJ is a pedo.

The first evidence you presented has been disproven time and time again both in court and in public. After Doc brought that to your attention, the next batch of evidence you presented in your post above was that ... his family is weird and dysfunctional. That's it.

You don't exactly present a very convincing case playa. None of what you said proves he's a pedo. And half of what you said isn't even true.

And for the record, I'm not here to say that I think he definitely did or definitely did not do any of what he's accused of doing. I don't know for sure one way or the other.

But based on the evidence at our disposal, there's nothing that would come even remotely close to convincing me that he did that shit. If there's any mental gymnastics going on, it's w/the people who have spent years lying about this man and making shit up to try and get a conviction, and failing. *Those* people are and were doing gymnastics to ruin him for one reason or another.

when you have a functional penis (and porn lying around for them to access) or paying off parents so he can be with them for months at a time isn't even "remotely close" to evidence, then I really don't know what to tell you guys

the standard of proof you would require is probably never going to emerge.

In response to Reply # 140

That Michael had a functional penis?
That he had a porn collection, some of which was found in his bathroom where children could possibly see it if they were spending days at a time sleeping over in his room?
That he spent at least two weeks at a time sleeping in the same bed as a child?
That he frequently gave gifts to these parents and groomed them too?
That he lost interest in them around the time they became 14 and then moved on to another child?

The grooming behavior is one hundred percent true and not debatable. Neither is the fact that he had pornography and an interest in sex. The sexual abuse is still he said, he said. But I believe them and you don't.

and by that regard, you'll never get a definitive answer to the "is he a child abuser, is he a pedophile" question.

>I keep seeing people say theres "no proof". What other kind of
>proof or hard evidence would you expect there to be?

unless you're R. Kelly.

what you will find are things like: non-disclosure agreements, in the case of Cosby, one's sealed testimony, other things that place MJ at the scene of one (or as alleged here, many) crimes.

if you erase THE TAPE from the R. Kelly story, and only present the information that is given in the two documentaries on dude, particularly those that corroborate the claims... you know he's been on some bullshit.

I was expecting to see something other than 4 hours of awkward, creepy testimonies, fake memorabilia being burned, and stories about events that don't match up with the passage of time about a guy that basically half the people interested in the topic is convinced he did before it even was conceived.

I totally expect more accusers to come forward now that this is out there. instead, a lot of people are coming out and saying that wasn't their experience. people I had never heard of before this point. men AND women, btw, but do provide receipts of them with MJ and in some cases, at the sleepovers.

Yes, I'm mad. Let's move on.

I totally get the reluctant person to come forward. I totally get the idea of a person being in love with their abuser and helping them hide their relationship.

It's a lot harder to believe that a kid or an adult under investigation, being examined by experts and put on trial with blistering cross-examination, would be capable of hiding such a relationship.

Then you add on top of that a history of being a grifter. SMH.

While he is primarily a metalhead, he's actually an obsessive MJ-fan as well as evidenced by the episode where he went through his discography. I watched some of his episodes ranging from the Motörhead and Bathory ones to the MJ one in the past and he is annoying as fuck but also very much a music-dork/"lessonhead".

For the record, I have no opinion on whether MJ is guilty or not, just saying that this dude is NOT unbiased but rather an MJ stan, presumably since he was a kid

this is an hour long, and I wonder if it'll get copyright-struck because of the usage of actual MJ music.

though some might find the guy's voice annoying, this gives the vibe of a puff piece, and he does have a bit of an inside view, there's a lot of good material here.

My wife and I were discussing that there is no real upside to defending MJJ. You see it on a personal level with friends and you see it on a public level with celebrities and people like Oprah. 15 who you gather from his tweets don't believe the claims, but you can also tell he doesn't seem to think it's worth defending him. Even Corey Feldman recent statement is telling. It's interesting because he didn't directly say he believes these guys, he seemed to be saying he just can't defend MJJ anymore.

And there is definitely no upside saying something negative about a person claiming to be a sexual assault survivor.

So this is one of those things where you might as well wait it out. Because I think there is a very high likelihood that someone like Wade Robinson is going to become undone. My prediction, based on history of these sorts of claims, is that the lawsuits will go nowhere and when there is no more money on the horizon we will see something dramatic happen. Just like with the other ones.

At this point I just want to see these post archived for posterity.

But at this point I kind of feel like why tread on a dead man's grave now when you testified under oath that he did nothing when he was alive? Can they get him for perjury?

a little weird cos of his relationship with young boys.

It's a tricky one cos the whole neighborhood love him. He's kind, caring and always looks out for people. He's also a brilliant carpenter and loves to show young boys how to make things around the house. He says he's preparing them to be brilliant carpenters themselves.
I guess my weird feelings started when I saw him walking around holding hands with a ten year old boy. But then I saw the parents there and they were all laughing and talking together; sometimes going for trips together. But at night, the parents would leave and the boy would stay overnight with my neighbor. Everyone in the neighborhood laughed about it cos they know what a great guy he is and how much he does for these kids.
He does seem to have a lot of candy in his house and he has a bouncy castle and a trampoline in his back yard even though he doesn't have kids of his own.
My feelings got a little weirder when, after a year of this one 10 year old sleeping over in his house and holding his hand, my neighbour found a new 10 year old boy and is now doing the same with him. When they're together they appear totally infatuated with each other and they seem to have loads of fun.
Now it's 10 years since I met the first boy and there have been so many boys stay over at his house, I can't even keep count anymore.
He was investigated for sexual abuse cos one of the boys accused him but I was relieved that they could only find a book of naked boys in his house, a few photos of naked boys and loads of adult heterosexual porn.
That part confused me cos everyone in the neighborhood thought he was Asexual.
Now more boys are accusing him but I know what a nice and amazing guy he is and how we all love him in our community so much.
Sure, I always had weird feelings about those endless sleepovers with different 10 years olds and I always wondered why there were no girls, girlfriends or older boys.

But man, what a great guy. I'll defend him till the end. What evidence do they have anyway?

166. "In this scenario, and others"
In response to Reply # 160

to find the truth of the matter, once must take these details and more, to paint the best picture of events we can.

We have a subject that is the perfect picture of a criminal. Behavior that could be considered deceptively saccharine hiding a much darker series of events.

Someone tells you those events occurred. You take them at their word, and go looking for as much as you can to verify it. You take the information you have ahead of you, and come to a conclusion. As the third party, your responsibility is to be as fair as you can.

Suppose someone tells you that they can tell you identifying details of the one who committed the crime. You find the person, you take pictures.

Do the pictures match the description? https://pbs.twimg.com/media/D1k4zHEUcAAA86n.jpg:large

If they do, you take it into evidence.

What if in your investigation, you find some evidence that contradicts the events that you were given initially?

Do you report it, or do you sit on it and go with "your gut"?

Say, you go with your gut, and you continue, and someone else comes out with a testimony that contradicts the events.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gHrJTrgKR1o

And another person comes up and does the same? And another person does, and another person does... and all of a sudden, you have more information to process, cross examine, piece together and come to a conclusion.

Sometimes you get it wrong. That's how investigation works. But you can't even get to that point, with insufficient information.

In some cases, this is why some cases never see a court and remain in the air of speculation. Sometimes this outcome is deliberately engineered (https://www.businessinsider.com/former-da-agreed-not-to-prosecute-bill-cosby-2016-2).

Ultimately, there is testimony, there is conjecture, there are hypotheses, but there is one singular truth. not "my" truth, not "his" truth, or "her" truth. But truth. Singular.

Sometimes a definitive piece of evidence can bring us there, but more often than not we end up with the hypothesis that has the strongest evidence supporting it.

One does not reach truth with mere testimony. It must be examined, cross-checked and investigated. Otherwise you have a witch hunt.

Regardless of the accused, this is an unacceptable outcome.

Yes, I'm mad. Let's move on.

but it’s FB so cant trust it.

Basically saying it’s getting pulled early because folks are backing away from it.

TBH the fact that you're even a mod here fits squarely within Jag's narrative of OK-sanctioned aggression, bullying, and toxicity. *shrug*

I believe that report on HBO pulling the "doc" was fake too. TMZ reports that they will be showing it again pretty soon...

Ppl gonna believe what they want to believe...there are those who will always think of him as a pedo, there will be those who think he is innocent and just trusted the wrong people. In this case? Personally, I was a hit piece to further to destroy MJ or destroy any perceptions that ppl has about him anyway. At least with these two accusers, the story does not make sense.
