"When you say fuck it and toss that hail mary salary ask. "
Recruiters got me down.
I've been having a back and forth with a recruiter and to just get them to fuck off in the sky when it came time to talk numbers I just said "The biggest fucking payday you got, gimme them coins nigga"
They said mmmmmkay, how about a bit less than that?
So now shit is moving forward and I'm legitimately in a place where I'm like "oh shit...they really going for it?...fuck, I might have to pack my shit"
I know I should just dead the conversation, I'm not ready for yet another tour of corporate ass bullshit.

**************** TBH the fact that you're even a mod here fits squarely within Jag's narrative of OK-sanctioned aggression, bullying, and toxicity. *shrug*

Best of wishes and I hope it works out exactly how you want for it to.

received a job offer on Wednesday. Most money I've ever seen next to my name. I said fuck it and asked for 5% more and 40 more weeks paid time off. Around lunch time yesterday them jokers sent me a revised offer letter. I still cant believe the shit. Major come up.

its so true that you dont get what you dont ask for though. jobs will make you really low ball offers. most people will just accept it but you really can get more if you ask for it. not always everything you ask for but it is surprising.
im hoping i have this type of success on my next job.
I'd have never negotiated the way I did for my current job, but before receiving the original offer, during the end of my interview process I was sent to have a lunch with the CEO. As soon as we were seated at the restaurant he gave me a verbal offer (no numbers or anything, only that they wanted me on board), he then explicitly told me to negotiate exactly what I want after I receive the written offer, emphasizing that they were fully prepared to work with me. & I received nearly everything I asked for, plus a bunch of extras.

Not to say you shouldn't accept the offer if they turn down your counter-offer, but you should ALWAYS negotiate. My former supervisor, that ended up being one of my closest friends, schooled me to the game years back when he hired me.
