btw, i kept myself mostly composed. got through the whole thing with only a lip quiver towards the end. i was quite proud of myself.

cold morning so i was expecting the office mate to have the heater on 86. as i walked in i noticed the office had the lights off. shes not here!!! good times. i hope shes well.

not too busy but ive had some work to do so thats good.

weekend was chill. made good use of the switch. watched jack ryan series. cowboys got that W. good weekend. maybe i should have been more productive but oh well.

On friday I couldn't breathe in the room they have us in.. the whole place was thick with BO... horrific.

lol i wonder if they would send someone home for that. they definitely should.


turns out the office mate got in a car accident on a new/used car she bought for her daughter for xmas. shes okay but the car is totaled. yikes.

some folks don't know how to deal with that I guess... it was a gross day... went and worked in the central atrium because it was just disgusting in the room..

wow that's harsh for your co-worker.. what a drag.. at least she's ok.. hopefully insurance takes care of it without ripping her(or her daughter) with a brutal premium hike.

Ended up staying home an extra day. The Kid linked up with the last friend she has in Charlotte, and I couldnt break them up. Took her record shopping Friday night (Lunchbox and Diggers Delight), then we ate real BoJangles and chilled at my parents.

Thanksgiving Day was...okay...a lot of house hopping.

Looking forward to this weekend already

Are good, tried to chill hard but a house full of 6 kids under 12 is madness.

My daughter had a ball with her cousins. I kept singing Colors all weekend but substituted it with cousins because cousins always initiating each other and challenging each other in ways to be bad.

the commute is killing me this week.. can't seem get here on time or even close to it... usually get a ride to the train with Shimmy but last two days I've had to bus to the train... and that has not been going well... how are these buses as crowded as these trains and all these people not dead from mass influenza?... I've been wrapping my scarf over my face looking like I'm some kind of clandestine radical just trying not to choke to death..

I'm an IT worker assigned to the PR/Marketing division here. Why are many of the people that work in PR/Marketing some of the most antisocial people here? Half the people don't speak, won't make eye contact and stare at the ground, EXCEPT for the handful of people that they are cool with (I guess).

But we are at work tho, not high school.

You gotta try pretty hard to avoid interacting with someone in one-on-one situations like hallways, bathrooms and elevators but they manage. Both the men and women in this department do this equally.

Only time they raise their voices is when they circle up and talk about dumb shit like donuts, TV, lunch, top-40 music, their wives, their kids or social media.

Type-Bs.

We don't match, at all.

that's gotta be frustrating to deal with that day in and day out.

seriously everyday be like ctrl-c, ctrl-p, and then having memory leaks on your couch until your system finally hangs at the end of the day and you have to cold boot it to get up and go again the next morning.

thankfully i'm gonna be moving around the region a bit more really starting today, so that will help break it up a bit and a good portion of my day will be in the car by myself. that is definitely going to help.


but i'll leave you two alone to be Grumpy Gregs if that's what you want to do Haha.

Been changing up my routine a bit tho. Seems to help. Plus, I've started listening to more music again at work (I find music distracting too, but less than voices). Today has been flying by.

Futile effort trying to change everyone else, gotta change myself.

And I have a hard time listening to music when I'm really trying to do something, I find it distracting as well. Not as bad if it's playing in the background on external speakers, but it's hard to focus on whatever I'm trying to do if I'm wearing headphones.

Woke up late
Ate my breakfast, watched some news, took the dog out
Looked at myself and decided "yeah, you need to shave"
Wife took The Kid to school early for extra study
Halfway through my shave realized I needed to take a huge shit
Cut myself shaving trying to hurry up and take this dump.
By this time, I've already missed the bus that will get me to work before 8, so the next one will get me there at 8:05..no big deal.
On my way out the door, I realize I need to take the trash out.
Walking up the alley towards the street, I see that bus pass.
So now I'm gonna be late.
I open the Uber app, but it wont connect, so I decide to restart my phone.
My phone was on 30% when I shut it off...it comes back on, then says "not enough battery..shutting down", and would not turn back on.
I can't even give anyone a heads up, cause my phone is dead.
So I walk to the train.
Get to the office at 8:30.
Nobody is here. I'm thinking I mustve missed something, cause someone is usually here by 8, 8:05
All of our clients are having software/upgrae issues. I'm getting pelted by calls by the same two clients that cant follow instructions
Someone finally shows up at 9.
Around 10 I walk down to the snack machine to grab a Moon Pie (yup...fuck it) and I rip my dollar in two on accident.
I laughed my ass off.

Day is getting a little better, but this morning was a muhfukka

i did have to buy a few different blades until i found the ones that worked well for me. i think i bought a 100 pack. maybe been using it for 2 years now. half way through. i should switch the blades more often though.

cremo shave cream changed my life lol that thing makes it so smooth to shave. i had been shaving daily up to about 2 months ago. im doing every other day too. if i wasnt rocking a bear i would have to shave daily. grows back too quick to not be noticeable lol.

decided to cancel my donation to aetna. no health insurance in 2019. havent used it once since i signed up for obama care. might want to get a free cleaning and gen check up in december and get some use of it.

i figure even with insurance if something major happens i will be completely broke.

heres to hoping the govt can get some actual health coverage instead of insurance.

wasnt feeling coming in to work today. i was ready yesterday, today i was dreading it lol. been busy though so that helps. almost lunch time.

if it was cost prohibitive.... damn... you guys are really getting the shaft down there.

if you got a family a "good" plan through work is around $500/600 per month. cant mess around with kids health so what you gonna do?

i could probably keep it but i need to just focus on paying down debt. doesnt make sense to pay for something im getting nothing out of when i have this debt. its a risk but oh well.

i will probably lower my percentage for retirement contribution too. hopefully next year i can bring it back up and get some insurance.

That includes wife and all dependents.

Our union contract came up and they proposed that we pay about 20 bucks a month for our bomb ass healthcare, and mofos wanted to strike. I couldn't do it....not knowing what 99.9% of other companies were paying for their benefits.

Luckily we didnt strike..I just thought it was crazy

my entire working life I've wanted to get a good union gig... I believe in labor organizations.. never should've gotten into IT the anti-matter market space for unions... lol.. wioerdest thing about my current gig is that they have contractors. non-union FTE and Union FTE.. how that works exactly I dopn't know.. I mean why does this union abide that like it's The Dude.

i would be cool paying for "insurance" if dr visits were covered, most prescriptions and lab work.

It was groovy being there with my parents, bros, sister-in-law, nieces, and nephews. We saw my wife's cousin and her guy. Did an escape room where we had to break outta jail. And as usual, we didn't have enough time to do all that I wanted to do. In on Turkey Day and out at the crack of dawn on Sunday morning.

I miss my family.
I want to move back and get the hell outta B'more.

The wife asked me if I would be ok getting a job there and moving first while she's here closing in on her GS-14 which then would make her more comfortable moving. Told her "Nope!" Sheeeeeit! Now, I it might be a serious option for me because I think I'm finally tired of being here.

All that to say... I can't stop thinking about this past Thanksgiving because it was awesome.

We're thinking of doing an escape room over christmas.. Shimmy's done them before I haven't... I think a couple of my kids have tried them before but not all of us together.

house. Usually, we grab a hotel room. This time, we stayed with them because I could tell my mom really wanted me there under her roof. Been gone away from them for 28 years now. It doesn't get any easier to leave them in the rear-view when it's time to roll out.

I feel you on missing family. My daughter got to play with her cousins and she was crying like we kidnapped her when they left. Tried to climb in the car with them.

I made sure we got together for Thanksgiving because my daughter is finally at an age where she can run with the big dogs.

We are going to ATL for Christmas. Can’t wait. She will finally get to meet her cousin who is her age. I have a brother and sister in ATL and flirt with the idea of moving there. My wife is applying to Emory so it may be an option if she gets a gig. I want my kids to grow up around family.
