... almost immediately. Like, I thought I had scrolled incorrectly but it turned out that I was just reading a slightly expanded version of the same thing. I'm grading papers in between trying to slog through this thing and I actually prefer my students' work, which is ... not strong.

I think, as always, they're being proactive because it's served them well thus far. They see (a) movement(s) building that could *become* (a) threat(s) if they don't nip it(them) in the bud so they're covering their bases.
So I don't think they're "scared" yet ... just doing what they have been doing, because it's been working.
