"Why ain't nobody tell me about the R&B duo VanJess?"
I was messing around on Tidal and found this beautiful dynamic sister group/duo that had me thinking about that good 90's early 2000's lounge, driving, and parking lot chilling music.

They are pretty dope though.
I don't know what I think of the album though.
You're such pests...now, what is it you want? In your depths of your ignorance, what is it you want? Well, whatever it is you want, I can't deliver because I just don't see it. - Orson Welles

I knew about them via a couple of YouTube covers and I had heard a couple of joints that I dug, but I JUST got around to giving "Silk Canvas" a thorough listen to this summer.
Verdict? This is the album of summer 2019, even though it came out a year ago. LOL. This is probably my favorite R&B release from a new artist in the last five years. It’s that good to me.
Top tracks - Control Me (Does anyone know the sample (?) In the background?) - Honeywheat (“Every time I wear that shit, I hear you uhhh”) - Easy. My favorite VanJess track period. Leikeli47 came thru with a short and smooth verse, and I love the beat switch up toward the end. This needs music video treatment.) - Touch the Floor (Masego hit us with updated, 1990s-era Kirk Whalum R&B saxophone sounds. Alright now!) - Through Enough
The group signed to the imprint that released Bandana (Keep Cool Records/RCA joint venture), which probably explains why they’re featured on a song with Gibbs. I can’t wait to see what they come up with next!
