Yesterday I go to pick "The Kid" up from the softball game at school (she's one of the managers..lazy as hell but this gets her volunteer hours for the IB program). I got there a little early, so I went to the field and caught the end of the game. Right when it ended, "The Kid" hollas out "Father!!", so I look at her, and she threw her head back like "...sup??", so I returned the nod.

She's walking across the field and calls me again (I had my head down reading my book), so I get up to meet her and I hear "Excuse me...are you "The Kids'" father?" I look, and it's one of her FINE ASSED coaches.

"Yes I Am!"

Shes walking over towards the fence thats behind home plate

"I just wanted to thank you for letting her help out...she's an awesome person...and looks just like you! I knew you had to be her father"

Oh...thank you! And yeah, she is pretty awesome, huh?

"Well, I just wanted to meet you and say hello..nice meeting you Mr. Blanchard!"

So I'm thinkin "hmm...was that? Nah...nah..she's just being.."

Then I hear "Wax n Facts??? Like the old Wax N Facts??"

(I had on a Wax N Facts t-shirt)

I look, and this mad pretty lady is walking beside me

Me-"Yeah...the one and only..theyre still open"

Lady-"No way...theyve been around for I know over 20 years"

Me-"Yup...still open. Now, maybe you're thinking of Earwax, because they did close, but Wax N Facts is still open"

Lady-"Oh man..you made my day with that...thats really good to hear..I may have to get down there at some point. You still buy records I guess huh?"

Now..at this point..."The Kid" is at the top of the sidewalk, waiting for me...maybe 75 feet away...I'm walking while I'm talking.

Me-"I do, of course! I try to get there as much as I can"

Lady-"I'll bet you got a real nice collection too"

Now I'm thinking...either she's tryna holla, or rob me

Me-"It's decent, yeah..." (making eye contact with "The Kid")

Lady-"Well maybe I'll run into you down there sometime"

Me-"Nice talkin witcha"...then I grab TKs' backpack and walk to the car.

I aint been holla'd at in a while, so tell me...were any of those hollas, or just conversation?
