"make america great again had a negative reception/
i took it, ????, rocked it, gave it a new direction/
added empathy, caring, love, and affection
and y'all simply questioning my methods"

the first song we hear is with t.i., who released

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hPDHlEOq1a0

as a part of the US or ELSE ep which included songs titled "40 acres" and "we will not." and the new kanye song is a dialogue (ye & tip) as opposed to a monologue (just ye aka most rap songs). maybe the messaging in this project goes in a weird unknown direction but i think the lead up to this was just kanye being kanye

I like it quite a bit. Kanye tries to make his case, but it's obvious he doesn't read much and is all enthralled with the symbolism of going against the grain in an attempt to unify the people.TIs voice and flow is really good in this too.

I liken it to Bob Marley's One Love concert where he played both sides by getting the leaders of the two political parties together to hold hands on stage. Bob never expressed in an interview whether he thought America's or Communist influence was better for 70s Jamaica because I really don't think he was well versed on it, he just thought the power of his celebrity was enough to make a difference.

So I like the song because it delves into black people's struggle with the wants of the individual vs. the community, a struggle that is going to typify black people for the rest of this century I think.

Both 'Ye vs. The People' and 'I'm not Racist' try to highlight opposing views in an effort to bring unity. I applaud the attempt but it's weak. First, a better opposing view would've been Yasiin Bey, Jay Electronica, Kweli, Black Thought, Immortal Technique....hell.....even Jay-Z. T.I. is a weak choice. I remember when he slipped up some time ago and said Trump wouldn't make a bad president. He back tracked once people got on his ass. I will never forget or forgive that shit.

Forget that whole argument of trying to understand people who hate people like me, want to murder people like me, want to murder our children, lock up our children, and keep our communities at an economic disadvantage.

From way back, when Black communities did try to build themselves economically, you get the Tulsa bombings (Black Wall Street), Columbia, Tennessee race riots (Mink Slide), Wilmington, North Carolina insurrection, etc. Not saying we should give up when our shit gets destroyed, just have some type of military to defend and protect the resources. Speaking of defend and protect, why should we when we are 'pulling each other up by our bootstraps'? The way they tell us to. Especially in the aforementioned towns.

This is not about being fair and living together, these alt-right people are about dominance by any means necessary. And keeping those that do not look like them or those they don't like in their place. If not, lock them up and kill with impunity.

I am so sick and tired of being asked to forgive and extend a helping hand to those that murder and subjugate us. I am getting shot in the streets, in church, blown up at my home BY THEM yet I have to go over to their side for the healing to begin? Nope, not happening.

Not once does the alt-right forgive and forget. Thus why they continue to win.

it didn't seem open enough, just as if TI was trying to get through to him why this isn't a good look instead of really having a conversation.

i do kind of wish someone else could have been used so some knowledge could have been dropped instead of this seeming like a right/wrong type of conversation.

So, his so-called activism is mad funny to me. Like, "Yeah. Ok, bro! I'm gon listen to you as if you're the moral authority. Cheating on your wife. Going to jail twice ass bamma. Ok. Tell me what you learned in jail. Were you too visited by Fard? Better yet, in between still munchin on M33ch's balls, what you got to say? GTFOH!"

http://www.xxlmag.com/news/2018/02/ti-big-meech-true-american-legend-heartfelt-instagram-post/

Furthermore, Tip never responded to this part:

"Y'all been leadin' with hate, see I just approach it different
Like a gang truce, the first Blood to shake the Crip's hand
I know everybody emotional
Is it better if I rap about crack? Huh? 'Cause it's cultural?
Or how about I'ma shoot you, or fuck your bitch?
Or how about all this Gucci, 'cause I'm fuckin' rich?"

Overall, the song was real because that's how it sounds when people are more concerned with wanting their thoughts heard and understood but aren't really looking to reciprocate. Essentially, the kinda shit that happens in the barbershop.

right after he gout out of jail he was invited to a HS for troubled kids to give a speech. Only problem is the school never told the parents about Tip coming to the school.

My sister said dude jumped off stage and was up in a kids face on some “so what you know about DAT homie, huh, hanh?”

She said it was some scared straight type shit.

Parents were furious.

I dont know how Kanye got into the house sound esp since its not just any house but a specific sub - genre and time

Anyway

it sounds like....I can't put my finger on it

its like Cajmere I think

I can't even explain what I like about it. Its nothing I would play in the car, I think I'm liking the idea of the track.

anyway, this joke-y ass joke track is going to do something interesting by way of influence

His last 2 albums ("Fade" from TLOP comes to mind, specifically) had house-influenced production sprinkled throughout. Etc.
