naw, he was offended when THEY were on TV, he was at home behind closed doors.

it's been a month since that clip aired - Envy can easily get in touch w/them via Charlemagne, he could have handled it off air & then started the interview where they address it saying they apologized, etc. That's very different than blindsiding them while you're at work & they're just trying to do their job. that was a sucka move.

then, to top it off, he gets an apology & is still so in his feelings that he literally walks out of work. it's always corny when you can tell someone is so amped to argue that when it doesn't go that way (ex. they apologize) they don't know what to do.

I definitely agree. I also don't think it counts as "dishing out banter" either tho. He's next to the man firing shots, so he's in danger of catching some of the shots that come back even if he doesn't even own a piece. I think he understands that. Overall, I think they all either say potentially offensive stuff or associate closely with someone who does. That comes with a price, and D&M have to understand that just as everyone else does. For me, this is just an "it is what it is" situation. You joke about folks, they might not respond like you want them to.

What's interesting here, to me, is the BC has Michael Blackson on yesterday, and he was talking about the incident with Kevin Hart where he was joking about Hart during his recent relationship woes. Kevin got upset, and most of the people the BC interviewed felt where Kevin was coming from. Blackson said he don't care about nobody's feelings and nothing is off limits except a guy's wife and kids. I guess Envy feels like if a guy like THAT can have respect for wife and kids, then it's a checkable offense? Can't call it.

In this case, I think they understood his anger. Mero was even talking about how he can relate. So I don't think the apology was forced out of fear.

Even if (shouts to Tiff because it can come off ‘she’s a harpy!’)) she didn’t initate it, its the “I fucked up, now I gotta be extra nice and into this relationship!”.

Envy is acting like they came out of no where attacking his wife. they were on a talk show going into great detail about their life. if Envy's life was so super private and they dug something up on him and went in, then he's got all the right to be bothered on that level. also that joke was so small. they could have gone so much harder. Desus could not even remember what joke he was talking about. me thinks Envy is over compensating a bit and trying to put the heat on someone else other than himself.

They were there to do the promo for their tours. CTG is family, and to that point they had been good money with TBC on a whole. So when Envy jumps out the gate demanding an apology, D&M were off guard, not exactly sure how mad Envy was (or how sincere, but that's another lane).

Now, for the record, I have no problem with Envy feeling some kind of way about a joke they made on the show. I didn't think it was a big deal, but I'm not Envy or his wife. So if he (or he and his wife, or just his wife, however you want to spin it) had a problem, fine and well. There was ample time to squash it before hand if it was a real problem, especially if it's supposed to be good between everyone there. But, Envy wanted to 'put them on blast', I suppose, and did it on air.

So, now D&M are in a spot where they are there to do business with family, and they get hit with Envy's rage. Since there was no real malice intended and Envy, who they thought was good peoples, was offended, they did what anybody would do and apologized for the joke. I don't see that as soft at all, just a way to handle any personal matters (brought up in public, mind you) and keep moving on with the business at hand. Now, with apology in hand, the show could continue. But Envy still felt some kind of way and walked off the set.

Nigga....

What else did you want? You made your scene, beat on your chest, got your apology on air within the first 3 minutes of the show, and still have to finish the segment. Envy still so mad he couldn't finish his job? Come on man. Again, if this was such a big deal and he was so mad, get at them before the interview and set things straight. Set your personal matters straight then handle your business. But Envy couldn't do that and just left mad. Not sure if he expected the show to take a different tone, or the interview to end, but apparently it didn't go the way he played it out in his head.

Meanwhile, D&M are there for business. Fam or not, messy or not, they have shows to promote. Causing a scene with Envy would have gone counter to that. And again, they didn't come at Envy with malice or hate and apologized for the offense. So even though they apparently felt some kind of way about how Envy came at them and his big barking afterward, they had business to get to and were not about to mess up that money. You could see it by how they deflected that comment CTG made about Fallon, as they were not about to mess those Tonight Show guest appearances up. Desus even calmly but pointedly noted that ambushing guests on air may not play well with other guests TBC may try and get, which is absolutely true. So they finished the interview, plugged the tour and bounced.

To their credit, they alluded to what happened Wednesday with the constant apologies, waiting for TBC to put their clip out for everyone to see, then told their side of the story on their platform, where its expected they would absolutely ROAST Envy. Had they done that on TBC they ran the risk of losing appearances on other media outlets, since they could be labeled as troublemakers. Save it for their own show and KIM.

This weeks podcast is going to be straight fire

my view, from the point of view that its all real

the joke was light, i can understand envy's wife not liking it and envy wanting desus to apologize. do it off the screen. maybe agree to make a comment on screen and move on.

envy throwing it on them on the show was not the right move and he will not come out of this looking good for most people. desus & mero need to decide when enough is enough and stop dog piling on him before they get push back. i saw most of the segment last night about it on dm, just missed the last couple of minutes. seemed they were about to get serious so can't fully comment on that.
