"my 5hr tribute to Dwele (unreleased/bsides/rmxs/bootlegs)"
CONFESSIONS OF A CURLY MIND presents a 5hr journey into the dope sounds of Dwele. consisting mostly of non-album cuts, unreleased tunes, b-sides, remixes and production work. Dwe is a bit of an all-round musical genius, but with this mix i wanted to highlight the original distinguishable 'sound' that made me fall in love with his work almost 20yrs ago: warm chords, Jay Dee level drum sounds and programming, + creative-ass lyrics & vocal delivery, surrounded by a raw warmth that makes it sound all so easy (it's not, dude just makes it look that way).

specifically with this show to highlight that 'Dwele sound' that i associated with him when Rize and the initial batch of bootlegs popped up. i only ever include a small portion of official 'released' album material n stuff cos it's not designed to be a Best Of.
"You can take an African out of Africa, but you can't take Africa out of the African" Afro-Americana/Afro-Caribbana/Afro-Latino unite. We are ALL Black!
that shit is my go-to taking-the-hour-long-trip-to-work-on-the-train mix. i close my eyes and mentally mime the words and perform all that shit in my head lol.
yep, thats what this show was meant for, shining a light into the deeper catalogues n whatnot.

I am a huge Dwele fan who happens to appreciate these types of tributes! I am an obscure music traveler, so the fact that you took the time to collect these rare gems makes me feel good as well as remind me that there are people out there who appreciate good artistry.
