welcome to the first new show for 2018, y'all! this fortnight we are spotlighting the amazing work of singer, songwriter, producer & composer: Gaelle. the set includes released & unreleased solo material with the legendary Chris Brann (of Ananda Project & Wamdue Project), her bangin production work as one half of "Speakeasy" with longtime creative partner Eric Stamile (the duo also co-produced "Transient"), plus a few joints from Cee-Lo Green's debut LP (which Gaelle & Eric co-produced almost the entirety of). as with most of Gaelle's catalogue, the vibe is mostly contemplative, downtempo, surreal & kinda haunting, but with a healthy dose of deep house & dancefloor bangers too.

a lot of these are unreleased joints that were shared with me by Chris and G themselves over the last decade or so. happy to finally share em all with you.
2. "i agree 100%, but..." In response to Reply # 1
...the format of the show is to put as little album material as possible so it's not a 'best of' kinda thing. it's more about the deeper unreleased stuff, obscure remixes and outside production work. there's usually one or two album cuts that make the setlist but for random or personal reasons (same format applies to all the artists i cover: https://soundcloud.com/confessionsofacurlymindredux/sets/coacm).
eg. "parkway" made the cut cos when "Transient" first came out, i posted on her myspace page about the song simultaneously turning me on & terrifying the fuck out of me. then she wrote an original 4 line poem back as a response dedicated just to me, in the same vein as "parkway" (i mean cmon lol). plus it's the only instance in the entire Naked Music catalogue that you'll hear the words "bitch", "dick" and "fuck". "give it back" made it cos it's one of her biggest hits alongside "king of my castle" (it's a dope-ass song of course but also cos of the historical significance). but generally it's all about the stuff you probably haven't heard.
majority of the solo gaelle tracks here are unreleased joints btw, a handful of em i was privy to as early as 2009 via the producer (Chris Brann). most of em have been floating around for years, but there's at least a few in the mix that i held back until now, that i'm certain most fans have never heard.
