Also, here's a playlist I made for my GF who teaches high school kids after one of her favorite students gave her a list of songs to listen to. I challenged her, mostly an indie rock and R&B girl, to recognize the differences between near half of these artists. I also originally planned to have her share it with the student as well a tongue in cheek mixtape I made for her last year during her first semester at school but we realized that breaks all kind of rules about student/teacher interaction about 30 seconds after we got super excited about the idea. But that's why the milo track is at the end, we were thinking about being not-so-subversive with a "bonus track".

the first time it really became a THING THING was last year when Kanye put that early mix of "Real Friends" out on his Soundcloud, a rapper named Rory Fresco had one of the most streamed songs in the country primarily because it was chosen by the app's algorithm to automatically play after "Real Friends" finished. I still haven't heard dude's name since.
This article, from when Soundcloud was facing a shutdown until Chance the Rapper (and whatever invisible VCs he worked with) swooped in and saved it, is a very illuminating read:
