I'm trying to judge them as emcees and that criteria is harsh to Cardi because she's new artist. In hindsight Cardi deserves the same amount of time to grow as Waka or another artist that developed their sound.
The landscape looks solid with representatives from every direction. Khamaiyah makes great music. Snow makes great music. Rapsody has an album of the year nominee on her hands. Kash Doll makes solid music. Dej Loaf makes solid music. Nicki hasn't gone anywhere. Angel Eyes makes good music. Remy Ma spits that real. I just found out about Ill Camille. That one artist someone posted that made that whisper mumble rap song whose name I forgot is worth a listen.

plenty men rappers out there featured on tracks but i don't see posts pitting them against each other. we'll pull out tired ol' jay vs nas b4 we start pitting the current men against each other.
but the stakes are higher for women b/c there are fewer of them out there getting any shine on the mainstream level. so when they're pitted against each other like only one can win it's not the same as when it's done w/men b/c it really seems like those out there making playlists at radio/stream-services think that only one woman can win at any given time. i don't get it.
i haven't even heard this track but that struck me b/c of what i'm hearing about women rappers generally and how odd it is that for the last few years it's seemed like there could only be one famous one at a time.
