Plus dual sides on a xenophobic jingoistic coin
I'd say it's more likely than not.
Trump has been wanting to drop nukes since the 80s.
Him personally.
You saw how he reacted with MOAB.
You saw how the news praised him.
You know he loves adoration.
Distraction? More like a disaster and a result.

I doubt it's going down.

Hopefully Trump understands the USA doesnt have a reliable missile defense system bc he's made weird statements about that.

But I lived through the end of the Cold War and it was the same thing then. Mutually assured destruction. So it's just hot air and puffery.

fuck you.

I hope, but far from doubt.

I don't believe he does understand. He's neither smart nor inclined to read. A world of intel and gets his info from the dunces at Fox News.

We also came dangerously close then. With a larger government and slower real time communication.

to get a nuke over here anyway.

NK has those tests but they're just tests.

the USA is the only nation in the world that's proved the willingness and ability land a nuke on enemy territory. twice.

if NK were to shoot that shit it'd have to wipe out the USA's ability to respond. b/c otherwise it's a wrap for NK.

and for what?

i don't see it. sure the talk is scary but i just remind myself of that ^.

and yeah that dude Kim Jong seems crazy. is he suicidal? is he ready to sign a death warrant for like millions of NK citizens? for what?

ultimately he just wants to sit at the Adult table b/c he's got nukes. i suspect that's what he's really on. he just wants to be taken seriously as a threat and not dismissed. i don't think he actually wants to bomb the USA b/c of the USA's ability to respond.

fuck you.

than a good ol' Mexican stand-off.

but i feel you.

i remember living through nuclear panic previously. ultimately i just had to put it out of my mind. b/c i can't do shit about it anyway. why choose to fret over it? instead i chose to focus on what i said up there - mutually-assured destruction is a persuasive deterrent.

but if i put any stock in the talk about nukes then i'd be on what Prince was on in the 80s: 'everybody's got a bomb we could all die any day. but b4 i let that happen i'll dance my life away.'

fuck you.

TBH the fact that you're even a mod here fits squarely within Jag's narrative of OK-sanctioned aggression, bullying, and toxicity. *shrug*
