"yo...are y'all giving away the culture?"

it was hot as hell this weekend...

I've been looking for something to function as a kitchen table and desk. Found it this weekend, except I ended up paying more for delivery than the damn table. they charged extra because I'm in the 3rd floor. I'm cool with it tho...

Growing old is inevitable. I'm starting to fear it tho. I've been watching old folks lately...

does forgiveness require reconciliation?
/

touch base with me...

A friend of mine got murdered last week. We had grown apart and the news though heartbreaking....I wouldn't call it 'shocking'. He made a lot of bad life choices. He also had a warmth and sensitivity that wasn't reflective of his lifestyle and it makes me angry that this part of his character isn't conveyed in the small amount of media coverage. I took the week off work cause I was a lot more upset than I thought I would be and relapsed on opiates/booze for two days to get through the funeral.

how does forgiveness work?
can I crossed the street when I see them...go the other way?

I'm I required to tell them..."I forgive you?"

I've never, ever forgiven anyone...

>how does forgiveness work?

forgiveness to me means that i don't have any feelings toward them either way. i'm not mad or sad or anything like that.
>
>I'm I required to tell them..."I forgive you?"

i don't think i've ever said the words I FORGIVE YOU in my life. when you've been forgiven, you know it
>
>I've never, ever forgiven anyone...
>

maybe you have forgiven them and you just don't fool with them. think about somebody that did you dirty. you may have wanted to smack the shit outta them back then. but if you saw them today, would you still want to hit them? maybe the answer is no, you wouldn't hit them. but you still not gonna chill with them.

that's kinda forgiveness

he let his son win because he knew how bad he wanted it. I don't think its necessary to prove your strength to your child. They already know...

it happened, and letting go of the resentment. At least for me.
Part of holding on is wishing, somehow, that we can rewrite history and avoid the offense completely.

So then I have to accept that the damage is done, and first forgive myself being vulnerable enough to get hurt.
Then forgive the person for deciding to hurt me. This usually means accepting them as a flawed person who is
actually willing to do xyz. It might cost me a friend, or a lover, or whatever. That's a loss I'll have to also forgive.

If I choose to still have them in my life, I have to accept that they are a certain way.
You can't resent someone for letting you down if you only expect them to be who they are.

Basically I've had to learn to stop expecting people to NOT be shitty.

It was interesting to hear Jay be so candid - although he was a bit guarded on certain questions. I almost forgot what he sounded like when he wasn't rapping.

..i dunno man...i mean.i'm no marketer but..to me...this whole interview is just part of the album roll out....making this more about him and his "gems" than the actual music (which I love...best since Black Album in my book)...

While I don't know him..he strikes me as a very shrewd business..."man"...every move is calculated.

I'm rambling/rushing to go grab lunch but ...i take his point about Kanye airing his kids...but to me that Future line is the same thing.....it could be interpreted as the same..fact that he thought it could be and didn't take it out "because it was some rapper thing" (or whatever he said)...sounds like a major backpedal to me...hypocritical even...

...and it's been beaten to death in another post but his black economics talk..reeks of privilege...the economy don't work that way....yeah...he "made it thru the bushes smelling like roses"...but everybody can't/won't....no matter how much we subscribe to tidal, buy ciroc or those wack shoes he's talking about...

Not knocking his hustle at all...but I just can't buy it...

TO buy it, honestly. this dude is known for his double entendre. so for this to just be a coincidence is hard to accept as truth. if this is just a coincidence, is every other double entendre just a coincidence too? is Jay really not as great of a rapper as we've all given him credit for?

seems unlikely.

i don't think the line was rooted in any kind of beef with Future, but it's certainly intended IMO. i mean damn, it's a dope ass line. own it for what it is.

lol lemme bite...i'm not on tidal...and can't fast forward through the stream...

from what i remember he said it occurred to him after the fact that it could be interpreted as a line about future...what he really meant was he could have some other man with his own son based on what he was doing to his wife...

it's a brilliant line if you ask me...i chuckled...

all i'm saying is that i find it disingenuous to be harping about kanye crossing a line and bringing his kids up..and it opens the kids up to criticism etc etc....which is all true and valid...
but in my books..he did the same thing....

If you're doing that...you should keep your mouth shut....
that's just me...

let's agree to disagree though, Trin...please..lol

...those new age/pop psych memes about "not forgiving is going to eat you up inside " are bullshit to me.

There are people who did me wrong...I'll never forgive them. As a result I don't fk with them anymore because I don't trust them.
I sleep great at nights with them out my life.

Trying to 'forgive' people who have no conscience is crazy to me.

People say I'm cold and bitter though. Lol.

**i have a three strikes rule for most things tho. Cross a line once...we can try to work it out...a second time...eh. A third? You either can't help yourself or don't care. Either way...you're out my life for good.

are separate. it is very possible to still love someone after they've broken trust. trust, to me, can fade quicker than love.

if I found out you cheated on me, I'd still love you, but the trust would take a while to comeback. and that's a maybe.
