"when your daughters first crush is a little negro boy.. "

Well, I’m sorry for what happen. Ya have a blessed day...

http://www.theroot.com/cop-shares-racist-facebook-post-turns-in-resignation-a-1797450272

An officer with the Estherwood, La., Police Department came under fire Monday after he shared a racist post on Facebook. After deflecting and attempting to defend the post several times, the officer has reportedly decided to tender his resignation to the department Tuesday night.

KATC first reported on the situation Monday, indicating that it would not identify the officer in question because he had not been charged with any crime, but Twitter user @Freeyourmindkid found the post and shared screenshots of the page belonging to Wayne Welsh, who identified himself as the assistant chief of the Estherwood Police Department.

The offensive post shows a white woman pushing her child’s head underwater in a bathtub with a caption that says, “When your daughters first crush is a little Negro boy.”

As noted by KATC, Welsh eventually took the post down, but he made several other posts referencing it. Those posts were shared by other Twitter users via screenshots.

According to KATC, Welsh also posted an apology at 5 p.m. Monday.

“Well, I posted something on Facebook that made a lot of people mad,” he wrote. “Well, I’m sorry for what happen. Ya have a blessed day.”

Welsh also reportedly posted about the “race card” and how people want to say he’s a “bad guy,” according to KATC.

“I shared somebody else’s posts and everybody mad at me again,” he wrote. “So Facebook police mad at me.”

KATC reports that Welsh’s page also included many posts praising Donald Trump, as well as posts disparaging Democrats, Michelle Obama and elected women in power, as well as posts making fun of overweight women and women who receive child support.

There’s also this gem, making fun of women in burqas:

Chief Ernest Villejoin Sr. told KATC that he spoke with Welsh by phone Tuesday morning. Villejoin said that although Welsh had apologized, he would not tolerate this kind of behavior, and he personally apologized for Welsh’s actions. Welsh is expected to turn in his resignation Tuesday evening.

RE: a cop in a town that small never comes across black people

And have been there with other Black people since the early 1800s. My maternal grandmother was born there and my maternal grandfather's family moved there from Mississippi in the mid to late 1800s before ending up in Beaumont, TX.

All that to say... Cops come across Black people everyday in that small town in Acadia Parish. It's a matter of how they are treated when they encounter and interact with them.

sort of business.

Or if this dude is out of his town where there are black folks. he's still a racist with a badge and a gun.

specific area, I'd say you're way out line on this one.

They matter just as much as you do.

And if law enforcement is so cavalier about these sorts of jokes, imagine how cavalier they are about sending those same Black boys to jail.

People can joke how and when they want to. They can't control the consequences though. Probably would have been better for the dude to be smarter about sharing his jokes with Jethro and Billy Bob.

Not at all!

However, they encounter plenty of Black people in that specific area. My point was just about them not mattering. This area is about an hour or so from the seat of the state capitol where Alton Sterling lost his life.

Black people in Louisiana have been shuffled in and out of Angola State Pen since it was built. An if this officer was crazy enough to get caught joking in this manner, I would wonder how many of us have ended up in Angola because of his or others same mentality.

but to discipline. Of course one could rightfully get the impression that it's implying drowning but I don't believe that to be the cultural implication.

It' a funny because it's "true" joke

That lasted until the grandbabies started to arrive.

HS was crazy!

In my hometown though, there was clear separation of "races."

The mixing was kept to the very minimum. Most of the HS were either Black or White. And that was through the end of the 80s.

In New Orleans though, specifically the West Bank suburbs, it was a hell of lot different.

And when them lines started being crossed, the White girls were getting disowned by Daddy. Momma let 'em stay in the house but Daddy was hard on 'em.

Not that there was a right or wrong way to go but I just never saw anything else as an option. And I'm all for people doing what they wanna do. Just wasn't what I wanted to do.

Fetishizing in high school was one thing. I don't even know if it was about fetishes in high school more than it was about letting that testosterone flow with any nice looking female that wanted it.

Doing what some of these people do their daughters/sons is way beyond me though. I'd rather have my kids in my life than to castigate and demean them over their choice. I just want their mates to be respectful, respectable, decent, and cool people.

Especially for those who weren't attached to Links, Jack & Jill or any other Black organization that held those social coming out parties.

I grew up Catholic and we had the Knights of Peter Claver shin-digs but I was disconnected from my home church when we started moving around Louisiana. So, prom was it for my parents and the parents of the young ladies I went to prom with.

this was back in 90, 91 in HS.

and shit was wild.

This was in the burbs outside Pittsburgh. Mostly polish and Italians.
Teachers would call up parents if they saw a girl spending too much time around the Black dudes in between classes.

Reminds me of the scenes in Jungle Fever when Angela took Flippuh to the Italian Festival in their neighborhood. Nobody batted an eye but her dad and bros knew about it as soon as she got home that evening.

and somehow word would get back and I imagine some of them had that Jungle Fever scene without the Stevie Soundtrack.

One girl was a freak and her dad owned the only spot where you could rent movies...

My boy ain't see no new movies unless someone else rented them.

damn yeah that lines up w/ what my mom says about HS and this was in NC. since it was in downtown it drew from all races and economic backgrounds. i went to the same HS as my parents did and there was that lowkey tension as well.

i remember i used to go off campus for lunch w/ this white girl in my latin class for a while then one of the white dudes i was kinda cool w/ (until then at least) came at me like "hey man why you going out to lunch so much with XXXX? what are yall up to? she'll never date a black dude so i don't want you to get any ideas." then like a couple weeks after that she started going out to lunch again w/ the white dudes and would just act like she didn't know me at times. and i didn't think much of it at the time because i just started going off campus to lunch w/ other people.

but yeah she def got checked by either her friends, or her folks or somebody. because she was mad weird and awkward around me after that. like she wanted to be friendly w/ me like we used to but she wasnt allowed to.

she was off their list.

that nigger lover label was real as shit too.

One other thing, some of those white girls would come back and tell us about "friends" of ours from on the football team who were racist as fuck when we weren't around.

While most of us already knew that shit we had one or 2 dudes who really thought those white dudes were legit friends.

there are a shit load of mixed kids at my HS these days too. LOL..

It was the weekend before my senior year. There was a cute White girl in my neighborhood. She dug me and everyone sort of knew it except for her parents.

On the Firday night before school started, she and I along with a my best friend, neighbor (who was cool as hell), and the neighbor's best friend all went out to celebrate starting our senior year. We got drunk as shit real quick.

The night goes by and I purged all the liquor I had in me. Well, the two drunk White boys (neighbor and his boy) got into because they both wanted to make a move on the White chic that was with us. They also both knew that she dug me. Well, we happened to stop in this random neighborhood for us to take a leak.

The two White boys got into heated argument and then fist fight over the girl. Cops were called by residents of the neighborhood. They showed up and immediately took me and my boy, who is also Black, and put the cuffs on us before stuffing us into separate squad cars. Took us all to jail. All three White kids were loaded into another car together.

I found out, from the White neighbor's sister, that the White dudes got into the White chic's head because they didn't want her talking to or liking me. After that, the White girl would see me on the school bus or in the neighborhood and act like she ain't know me. at that point, I left all of that alone. I ain't want no problems.

Plus, this was still Louisiana!

"Fight the power!" And "You can't hold the Black man down!"

I was Buggin Out! Pun intended. This was 1988 and I had been listening to a lot of P.E. whose "It Takes A Nation of Millions" which had just been released a couple months prior.

They threw my boy into a holding cell with a cat who had just committed murder. This incident gave me a clear idea about what they do and how they do. More than that, I was left knowing exactly WHY they do it too. The White dudes and chic weren't even brought in with us. They were brought into the lobby until their folks came to get them.

My mom always says the same thing you just said.

"Boy, do you know they could have had your ass in a field somewhere?!?!"

Why? I don't know. We turned our lights off and was creeping on a dirt road in a part of the city we had no business being in. Turned the lights back on as we were driving over a baby tree and realized we were in someone's back yard.

Right before we got on the highway we saw those flashing lights. Of course my boy was being an asshole to the cops on some I know my rights so we ended up going to the holding cell in the middle of the fucking woods. Thought we were gonna die.

5 Black kids, 2 cops in a one room cell like it was a scene from Hear of the Night. We were faded and challenging the cops to first fights and just being drunk and all types of wrong.

They had one toilet in the middle of the room. No walls. We were like "hold up, so if you gotta shit what does your partner do?" Man.. the look of fury on his face when giving the answer and seeing us bust out laughing. Man, we were so lucky cause they could have ducked us all the way up.

This is a joke about child abuse and potential murder. Historical context says when a white man jokes about committing acts of violence against a woman or a black person that its...not a joke.

You're trying to sterilize this for reasons I cant comprehend.

Plus, you'd rather this broad PRETEND to like black people instead?
