Not Bernie, but anyone trying to throw shade with this = any guilt on his part purely because there is an investigation.

When Hillary was under FBI investigation, as much as I disagreed about her as the candidate, it was always a wait and see attitude to let the investigation play out. Investigstion =/= guilt.

With Trump's Russia probe FBI investigation, again, as much as I despise the man's policies and ineptitude to govern, the process should play out and the evidence should be submitted and displayed. Investigation =\= guilt.

With this, it very well may come down that some impropriety went down with Jane Sanders, and that by proxy Bernie could have some hand in that and could and should face those consequences. It also very well may be a mutual hit job from Dems and Repubs to look to smear the popular politician who is actually adamant about policies which would help the working class.

If he is found guilty of anything, it won't make me want free college, or raised minimum wage, or single payer, or any other POLICIES any less because of it. He is not the inventor of those ideas, bor the gatekeeper. Just a politician who seems to prioritize these issues over campaign contributions and private interests.

But we will see. Investigation =/= guilt.

In response to Reply # 11

Primarily picked up on him in college as he was the sole Independent Senator for a long time. His policies ave been something I have been following for a while. He is not an empty promise politician - in his capacity as Senator he has been the most popular by his constituency. He helped raise minimum wage in Vermont before Hillary ever did for NY state. So his accomplishments are there.

The farce of this election has not been Sanders. He has been the conduit for exposing what is wrong with both parties. He was able to fundraise without taking corporate money, was able to rile up the American public on POLICY, and has a record for showing concern over these issues. TRUMP piggybacked on Bernie's populism and was able to manipulate a desperate electorate. Sanders has essentially been on message since he because a Representative in the 80s. Republicans AND Democrats were absent from his floor hearings, not because he is a fraud, but because he told the truth.

He explained how he would pay for free college (tax on wall street speculation, in case you forgot....I didn't). These were pie in the sky ideas. He said we already spend more per capita for health care than other countries who are able to cover all of their citizens. Single payer doesn't even require more money, but rather a divorce from the pharmaceutical and insurance companies. Point out the lie in aiming for this solution.

After being cheated by the party he lent his legitimacy to, he then put pride aside (to many of his followers disgust) and supported the Democratic Party and Clinton in the general. When she lost and went in the woods, HE went on an issues based tour to keep the policies he fought for in the primary in the public sphere since Clinton vs Trump killed essentially all policy talk. He then AGAIN lent his legitimacy to the Democratic Party to his detriment for this "unity" tour to try to salvage THEIR party. However, he is guilty of hi-jacking that platform to speak beyond rhetoric and actually focus on core policy which he is still an adamant advocate.

You don't have the like the guy. To me, he has made it clear that he would rather be conciliatory towards the Dems than go all the way, but he said it was never about him. I am encouraged by the people who have been inspired to run themselves, and am putting my faith in a platform that people can get around. It would suck if he is implicated in this or any other matter but he's not perfect nor a messiah. His policy positions and platform was what was needed. We missed that opportunity but hopefully will pay attention to the right things next time.

Once again Bernie bruhs mimicking Trump supporters

It's crazy how when it comes to Bernie u all 'investigation does not mean guilty!'

Meanwhile Clinton got investigated and concluded nothing happened and yal still talking like she's guilty of shyt

Don't know y it's so hard for yal to fathom that the democratic party didn't want a fake ass democrat to represent the party

That's all the emails talked about

No they weren't going to throw their support behind him when he refused to commit to the party

And still us on his same ol bullshyt with that Our Revolution gritting scam he has going on

But anyway

Ya boys a fraud

He can just hide behind being independent so he can still shyt about both parties without having to be held accountable for anything

He has stocks in big oil/fracking/big charm

He hired Paul Manaforts buddy Tad Devine

He voted yes to deregulate shadow banks that caused the 2008 financial crisis

I could go on but ur boy is pretty much full of shyt

Closed primaries aside, between the fraudulent representation of Sanders (and his individual donors), "provisional" ballots never counted, voters with registrations switched, polling places' times modified or locations all out shut down, etc, ALL at the direction/supervision of a DNC that was supposed to be impartial = cheating.

>Once again Bernie bruhs mimicking Trump supporters

How so? You have more in common with a Trump supporter than I do. You are still riding hard for a candidate whom you basically only voted for because it wasn't the other person.

>
>It's crazy how when it comes to Bernie u all 'investigation
>does not mean guilty!'
>
>Meanwhile Clinton got investigated and concluded nothing
>happened and yal still talking like she's guilty of shyt

Show me where I ever said that. I wont disagree that some supporters took that stance, HOWEVER, MY exact stance after Comey essentially pardoned her was that superdelegates were still taking a huge risk in entrustung that Comey wouldn't pull a switcheroo at the end - which yall seem to think he did. Again, not my nor Bernie's fault. (Check the tapes)

>Don't know y it's so hard for yal to fathom that the
>democratic party didn't want a fake ass democrat to represent
>the party

>That's all the emails talked about
>
>No they weren't going to throw their support behind him when
>he refused to commit to the party

Cool, that's not their decision to make, when they have open primaries in certain states AND take money from constituents and voters who are not part of their party, but whose money they didn't deny. That is why they are being sued RIGHT NOW, and their argument is "well if we DID cheat, we aren't bound to live up to impartiality, because that is a 'political promise'" That's that bullshyt.

>And still us on his same ol bullshyt with that Our Revolution
>gritting scam he has going on

His Our Revolution program is encouraging citizens to run (and win) as well as primary do-nothing Democrats. Only reason he is touring with Tom Perez is the same reason he was with Hillary: to lend popularity to their unfavorability. None of the running with Democrats has helped him or his reputation. Besides, 15 million people left the Democratic party. There are a lot of "not Democrats" out there. Trying to account for that would be a winninh strategy, one that Dems apparently have NO interest in.

>But anyway
>
>Ya boys a fraud
>
>He can just hide behind being independent so he can still shyt
>about both parties without having to be held accountable for
>anything

He's always been Independent. It wasn't a new scam. He joined Congress the same time Hillary became first lady of Arkansas. He has largely been saying the SAME SHYT for 40 years. How is the man with no ties to private interests who has been on message for decades, but you found yourself with a candidate who switched up positions on basically a weekly basis?

>He has stocks in big oil/fracking/big charm
>
>He hired Paul Manaforts buddy Tad Devine
>
>He voted yes to deregulate shadow banks that caused the 2008
>financial crisis
>
>I could go on but ur boy is pretty much full of shyt

Private stocks are not the same as voting record. And again, very hypocritical to bring up questionable hires where such criticisms of Clinton were met with STFUs, but if you want to got cronie for cronie let's play that gave.

at work received Provisional ballots in NYC. I am the only one who received a Democratic ballot because I had to ask. Those same folks voted for Obama TWICE so no, they were not voting for the first time. They were registered Democrats voting for their candidate, or at least trying to.

If the DNC didn't want Bernie in their party then they shouldn't have let him in and taken his supporters money. You're not making sense man.

at *worst*, his wife was the equivalent of a non-corrupt HBCU president, trying to hustle up money for the school using shellgame-ass practices.

Also, way to bury this DEEEEEP in the Politico piece:

“As a result of my complaint,” Toensing wrote, “I was recently approached and informed that Senator Bernard Sanders’s office improperly pressured People’s United Bank to approve the loan application submitted by the Senator’s wife, Ms. Sanders.”

The evidence for that charge seems to be thin, at best. According to sources familiar with the matter, the alleged “pressure” may have simply been a casual suggestion—perhaps chatter by a Sanders staffer over lunch, instead of a written document or email—and though such a suggestion might still be improper, it would be difficult to prove a direct connection to the senator.

I ain't even a fan of *Sanders*, but his policy suggestions are badly needed. BADLY. This is a hatchet piece

1) His wife definitely sealed the fate of that college with that land acquisition.

2) The closing of the college affected hundreds if not thousands of folks in Burlington.

but....

1) Bernie and his wife didn't cake off of this.

2) Nobody died (whitewater?)

3) As stated in another reply, the evidence connecting Bern to this is tenuous at best.

All that said, I hope that between this and some bullshit article I saw about bodies found on Clinton's land...I hope the DNC gets cleared out so they can start over.

selling a book after losing this country and election to an imbecile reality TV show host, blaming EVERYONE for her loss but her and her choices.

But yeah, fuck Bernie to travelling and campaigning to protect health care and raise the minimum wage.

He should be a Democrat about it and disappear until 2020 like the rest of them will.

that didn't show up to vote at all.

I make more than the proposed minimum wage raise already, though my health care is a share. I pay a premium basically to not get fined and only cover a check up and the common cold. I probably have a torn ligament in my leg but am just dealing with it cause *shrugs* Merrica, but I don't expect you to make that a concern of yours.

BUT good luck making a platform ONLY based in your issues and expecting a plurality of the vote. Winning Democratic strategy you got there......party of the working class, but not their issues.

most people don't vote in every election, but now you put it on specific talking points that you want to highlight.

you should go away and never ever come back.

yes, the same percentage of people who never vote didn't vote this time because of things that happened AFTER the election.

that shit has nothing to do with any of that, and it has fuck all to do with who will vote in the next election. it doesn't work like that and never ever has but because you listen to a podcast you think you know shit about the electorate.

that I listed? I was referring to health care and minimum wage raising. You're saying those issues had no inpact on voter participation and effacacy?

Also, no I didn't listen to a podcast and get woke. I had some of the best professors hip me to Critical Thinking in regards to politics when you were still getting wet to Bill Clinton playing saxophone and calling him the first Black President.

Anyway, I've done nothing but made sense this entire process. Like literally everything I said since Bernie threw his hat in the ring happened, except he didn't get the nomination. Looking back, I can see why that may have been the case, but nonetheless he was definitely the candidate America could have used for THIS moment.

Either way, we didn't make it, so its whatever now. Luckily for you it doesn't effect you so I guess you're straight.

30. "Non-elite small liberal arts colleges face huge challenges today"
In response to Reply # 0

They are pressured to increase enrollments while at the same time cut costs, and it is very difficult to build programs without space or resources. Burlington took a big gamble in purchasing that property, and it failed. The buildings weren't in the best shape, and the College was too ambitious in its enrollments projections. It remains to be seen whether there was impropriety on the part of Jane and Bernie Sanders. The purchase alone is not evidence of malfeasance as it was part of a strategy that has been employed by legions of similar institutions. Plus, the board would have had to approve the purchase. At best, this is was an ill-advised investment that hastened the already likely demise of the college.

http://wjla.com/news/nation-world/source-of-allegation-vs-bernie-sanders-wife-admits-info-was-hearsay

MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) -- A Republican lawyer who reported independent U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders and his wife to federal officials was passing on information he heard from a GOP lawmaker who said he didn't have direct knowledge of the allegations.
The lawyer, Brady Toensing, sent letters to the U.S. attorney for Vermont and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. alleging that Sen. Sanders pressured a bank to approve a loan to a now-closed college run by Sanders' wife.
The source of that information was Republican State Rep. Don Turner, the minority leader of the Vermont House.
Turner told WCAX-TV that friends at the bank described pressure from Sanders' office, but he says those friends didn't have direct knowledge of the negotiations. Turner says he told Toensing about it in May 2016, adding that he would not have brought it to the attention of federal investigators.
Toensing, an attorney who served as Donald Trump's Vermont representative during last year's presidential campaign, said Monday he was standing by the allegation.
"This was not a country store, cracker-barrel rant," Toensing said. He noted that hearsay is used by investigators to develop direct evidence.
Turner did not immediately return a message left by The Associated Press on Monday.
The Vermont weekly newspaper Seven Days first reported late Friday that Turner was the source of Toensing's information.
In early 2016, Toensing sent a more extensive letter to federal authorities alleging that in 2010, when Jane O'Meara Sanders was president of Burlington College, she made fraudulent claims while seeking $10 million in financing for a real estate deal.
The college, which closed last year, later sold the property. Officials cited debt from the land deal as a major reason.
Federal law enforcement officials have refused to confirm or deny the existence of any investigation, let alone what led them to open one. But Bernie Sanders confirmed an investigation was underway after it was revealed last month that Jane Sanders had retained attorneys. No charges have been filed.
During a Sunday appearance on CNN's State of the Union, the Vermont senator and 2016 Democratic presidential candidate cited Turner's comments as proof that the allegations against his wife were politically motivated.
"Sadly we are in a moment where parties not only attack public officials, they have to go after wives and children," Sanders said. "You know, this is pathetic and that's the way politics is in America today."

Do you mean the e-mails she exchanged in her private server?

Or the e-mailed leaked by a DNC insider exposing the DNC's manipulation of their primary?

Both are stories, one which she was exonerated for, the other apparently is worth starting WW3 over.

E-mails d8dn't keep me from voting for #themocrats. Their entire platform has been deception and trash. 95% of new wealth went to the 1% under Obama. No public option or single payer. No raised minimum wage (on their behalf). No progressive social safety net. More wars and global conflict. To quote Bernie, enough about the damn e-mails (though they did sink you).

Yall had a terrible candidate, and the party isn't much better. Yall wish your only problem was some hearsay bank fraud case. How about the actual DNC lawsuit about frauding campaign contributors? No post on that? Or Dems killing single payer and using super delegates to get a pharmaceutical lobbyist in California? No post on that? No post on Clinton doing a book tour instead of speaking on issues and being the "resistance" to clean up her mess? No post on Comey and Lorreta Lynch being under investigation for manipulating the e-mail indictment for Clinton at the encouragement of Bill Clinton? No post on CNN producers saying Russia is a bullshit story for ratings with no real proof at this point?

Naw, didn't think so.
