There's nothing subconscious about it. I think it's a tacky look. I also think logos on clothing is tacky. I've also been known to debadge my vehicles in the past. I also have a strong disdain for women that wear makeup and flashy clothing. I also think dudes that over dress for occasions look silly.
I say all that to say, my reasoning for not flying a flag are superficial at best.

There's plenty in this world to be scared about. Walking through a hood with flags on the porch for flag day isn't one of them. As I stated earlier, there IS a flag that is widely flown and advocated for that DOES indeed make me feel some kinda ways. But the American flag isn't that flag.

I'd rather not live anywhere else but I ain't no flag lover. Most times, I truly pay the damned thing no mind. Though it has nothing to do with the military, I do stand for the Anthem out of respect for the military serving this country. It's a tough sacrifice that many outsiders can't begin to fathom. My standing is more about them than it is out of some patriotic duty.
