and yeah, it really came down to the practicality and having the space. we thought about an suv, but man with all the fold down/hidden seats and shit there's really more room in the minivan. we love it, though. and it's at least v6 so we have a little power haha. way more than the 'rolla i'm currently driving.

also, we just paid the van off last week!! it was a good feeling to clear that debt.

joints have been lifesavers countless times. Moving, moving a kid to college, stuff from hardware stores, appliances, etc. Plus, it ain't my daily, so it's all gravy.

Still, minivans at least have hauling capacity and space. The most emasculating car for dudes are those little mini SUVs that look like they should come with eyelashes. Slow, small and not cool looking.

I really like the Tahoe but with this daycare bill it's looking more like a Pilot.

Wife on the other hand wants a Lexus GX470. I told her its nothing but an overpriced 4Runner that runs on premium gas and has higher maintenance costs.
My wife currently drives a Lexus, I have a Camry. My car runs just as well as hers for about half the cost

when you can get basically the exact same car, just with a toyota or honda emblem on it. shit, get the fully loaded model and it can't be that much less luxurious and would cost less.

if you want a luxury car then get a luxury car, not a mid-major.

I'm hearing it's not ALL that spacious though. Like it's good for one kid plus accessories if you generally pack light... but if you're packing heavy or have multiple kids, it ain't enough.

What kind of sports car you thinking of? I'd suggest getting your bid in now with something cheap and then periodically upgrading through the years.

They tried to make to look SUVish, with a long front end, but with all the bells and whistles of a minivan.

I got one once as a rental. It had decent pickup and handling.

They just didn't make it look sexy...enough.

more interior space, especially with the hide away seats.

3rd row of seating if you have 'em flipped up (and still a good deal of trunk space)

easier to get in and out of than a truck (especially for kids)

costs less

smooth ass drive, drives more like a space ship than a truck

i think that covers most of 'em. there may have been another factor or two.

only other truck that has as much cargo with the third row seat up as a Pacifica was well over 75k with the features we wanted
