"Wayne Brady appreciation post."

dude is just like the consummate performer/ TV personality.

I dunno, it's just like even when dude is being corny that shit is type funny and cool, plus he always seems to exude a certain level professionalism and class that harkens back to an older era of Black talent.

I honestly feel like he could/ would be a shoo-in for public office.

Whatch'all think?

I always wondered if it came down to him or Drew Carey when they were looking for Bob Barker's replacement.

He takes Paul Mooney to task- albeit with some reverence for Mooney- for playing into the way Wayne is perceived.

He also says he can go and do a two hour show from scratch and improve the entire thing. All in all, I think his talent shines and it is and always was cool to like him. People do go in on him for not being “black enough” or however you want to phrase it, but I think people have always enjoyed and respected his comedic chops.

I know people think of the Chappelle bit first and foremost on this subject but IMO he’s done a fair amount of interviews to dispel the way he’s perceived.

i'm not dinging his talent at all.
but his following was very lopsided. Dave brought a balance to his fan base.

I think it was more so... damn, that dude is actually funny/talented and not just funny to white people.

but I doubt we are checking for him like that.

and the Chapelle skit confirmed what I already knew.

i still think that's the funniest skit of all time because it was so unexpected.
