to ensure comfort. And the 34" inseam has to be hemmed anyway. I cut 'em down by three inches. At that point, they're proper.

The key element in that is wanting my clothes to fit me. Most premium denim comes with a standard 34" inseam. So, I'm paying to have them altered. At Nordstrom's basic alterations are free for items purchased from them anyway.

It could be a $150 blazer from J. Crew. It's getting the same treatment as the more expensive blazers I cop.

And for the record, I've copped a few pairs of their jeans in Nordstrom's Rack or when they're on the Final Few rack in Nordstrom's and not come close to the tagged retail price. Not too many people I know are out there paying standard retail prices for stuff like that when they don't have to.

A "34", when I was that size, seemed like a damned "30" when I tried them on. Shits was TOIGHT! And you know that selvedge ain't budging unless you wearing them joints everyday.

Went up to a 38 in size once I hit the 35/36 range. Fit much better. Got the inseam trimmed down to 31" so I could at least wear a cuff if I wanted to.

Got a few pairs. Then, I decided I prefer them AGs more. Just get the inseam cut down and I'm good to go.
