"*THE UNRELEASED ALBUMS POST*"
Back when I was working on my Rare 90's R&B mix, I realized that a whole lot of unreleased/canned albums from back in the 90's and early 2000's are now available online, and on YouTube. I had a decent amount of them back then when they first got leaked, but there were plenty that I had zero idea about.
So for this post...let's drop links, preferably YouTube, to all the unreleased albums we can think of. Discussion wise, we can talk about why the albums were canned, or even why we speculate the fact that they never came out.

I miss the days where DJs could do that.
If I'm not mistaken, T-Boz was trying to push a solo album at the same time and even had a video. It was wack too. ---------------------------------------

I played this OUT that 2002 Summer before the real one dropped. It was way more West Coast, and less commercial..so they probably canned it and only saved a few songs.

I think it didn't come out for two reasons (from what i heard): Tray Dee (?) was locked up when it was supposed to come out and they were beefin w/ Snoop over money at the time (which they squashed eventually).

Amoeba Cleansing Syndrome is the second studio album from American R&B singer Joi. The album was set to be released in 1996, under EMI Records and promotional CD's was released to radio stations. EMI soon delayed Amoeba Cleansing Syndrome set for a later release in 1997, for more songs with commercial appeal. By 1997, the album was planned for release, as "Ghetto Superstar" was to be first single. Abruptly, EMI Records was shut down, and the album was shelved.
The producer of the "Amoeba" album was Dallas Austin, who arranged for funk rock band Fishbone to be the backing band. Dallas's company FreeWorld Records acquired the rights to release the album. FreeWorld Records released two different promotional EPs for radio with a selection of songs from the album. FreeWorld Records went out of business before "Amoeba Cleansing Syndrome" was set to be released. In 2002 the album was official distributed personally through Joi for official purchase on digital format or CD through her Official online website.
In The New Rolling Stone Album Guide (2004), Rolling Stone journalist Jon Caramanica calls the album both "sensational" and "bizzare".
In 1996, she traveled to Woodstock, New York where she recorded tracks for God's Foot, which was to be her fourth solo album (third if not counting Become What You Are, which was recorded with the Juliana Hatfield Three), intended for 1997 release. After three failed attempts to satisfy requests from Atlantic Records to come up with a "single" that the label could release, Juliana requested she be released from her contract. The label obliged, but kept the rights to the songs produced during these sessions (Atlantic had reportedly paid $180,000 to that point on the recordings). Two tracks – "Mountains of Love" and "Fade Away" – were eventually released on a greatest hits collection entitled Gold Stars, while still another, "Can't Kill Myself," was available for download from Hatfield's official website. The remaining tracks have surfaced only as substandard bootleg versions (which do not meet Hatfield's approval) and she has rarely featured them in her subsequent live performances.
In 1997, she prepared for the release of her second album, Welcome to Fantasy Island (originally titled Portrait of a Lady). It garnered critical raves and a moderate hit with the lead single, "(Freak) And U Know It," but was shelved by Elektra Records in 1997. The album was leaked to the internet a few years later and promotional copies sell for hundreds of dollars on eBay.

Dude put Cee-lo and Bobby Womack on the same track. Luda sounded great on the beat he was on (with Erick Sermon, no less). Tiny and Tamar on the same track is like he was seeing the future of reality tv lol. My man got slow jams, rider music, reflective joints, everything.

It was supposed to be released on death row before Classic 220. It's entirely produced by Quik and would have been a west coast classic if it came out.

I thought that I got it from OKP. It would have been around 2005 or early 2006, I think). The version I got had a little overlap with the final release. But that unreleased version was fantastic & 100 times better than the released version.
