"When you're job searching and Mercury & Venus are in retrograde..."
I just found out that my fellowship is ending and not being extended or converted to a permanent staff position like I was originally told.
I just started a new job search to get by black ass back on a mofo's payroll.
Just my luck, Venus is in retrograde until April 15 and won't return to full power until May 18. And of course, Mercury is in retrograde until May 3! Hooray!
Per AstrologyZone.com: "Venus RULES your most important career sector, but right now Venus is also TRANSITING your home sector, so both are on hold right now."
This is so true for me right now, given the pending job loss.
For those of you are are really into astrology and take the retrograde seriously (I vacillate between not caring and believing and caring, TBH) how do you approach a situation like this?
Only accept an offer during this time after carefully reviewing the contract/terms, not that I wouldn't already do that?
Don't accept an offer during this period at all?
Anything else?
Would you go to the extreme and not bother to apply for anything serious until after all this retrograde shit is over with (This would be ridiculous and I won't actually ever do this)
It is unlikely that I'd receive an offer before the last retrograde period ends in May, but I'm curious to know how other people feel.
I am a Capricorn, for the record.

I feel like there's a kind >of romanticism associated with it for want of a better word. >
This is very true. I don't take astrology seriously most of the time but there's a tiny part of me that wants to when it comes to this Mercury retrograde thing.

but...I just don't. I do like the romanticism of it though, and view it as more of an escape for a while than anything to take seriously.
To me the sky in general is very 'romantic' and I sometimes escape from the humdrum of life by watching the clouds drifting, or the night sky when I can. When I used to have a house and garden my daughter and I would sit outside late in the evening on a clear summer's night and just gaze at the stars, dream, and imagine. We always had deep conversations during this time, the memories of which I treasure. Because we were fortunate to live in an area where it was dark enough to see certain things, we even saw the milky way.
Where I live now it is too lit up. I miss the night sky and have to satisfy myself with reading books and looking at pictures in astronomy books. I even went to the local planetarium a few months ago where they were showing a special film – just so I could get a taste of what I've been missing.
The books I've been reading about astrophysics fascinate me no end. I was never that good at physics, but these books make some of the concepts such as gravity and the arrow of time halfway understandable to a lay person such as myself. Just finding out about how the universe works is 'romantic' to me. I much prefer this to astrology.

Some articles I've read suggest that people will eventually come to regret accepting a job during the retrograde period because some issue with the position will surface at a later time.
Of course, this happens to people all the time, regardless of what's going on the astrology world....

and 1) It wasn't renewed and 2) I got paid 30% less than what they initially said I would (it was posted as a part-time gig, but the rate they posted was for full-time work).
I took it because I needed the bread, but it didn't last and didn't add anything to my portfolio.
And you can argue that any approach to life is "fake" if you don't find it helpful to your own life. Astrology has helped me understand myself and my path. It's not meant to be predictive, but informative.
10. "How? How does the position of the planets effect your life" In response to Reply # 8
How? And you know that the planets have different orbits right? So, if you're born January 29th 1992 and another person is born January 29th 1993 the planets are in no way in the same alignment. So tell me, what energies do these planets give off, how do they reach earth and find you specifically, and what instruments are used to detect these energies?

If you're actually interested, you can google it. Not to be snarky, but the explanations are out there in abundance.

Someone who actually studies astrology, not just reads horoscopes, knows this.
Your chart is based on not just when you were born, down to the minute, but where. So of course two people who share a birth day but not a birth year, time or location would have different planetary influences in their natal chart.
