and didn't know what he was supposed to do, so he said "shit", looked around, and just said "La La Land".

then they let one of the producers accepting the award for La La Land know that they hadn't won and he interrupted his own speech to make the announcement "Moonlight" won.

some great irony in what he said...

"There's a lot of love in this room...and let's use it to create and champion bold and diverse work...work that inspires us towards joy, towards hope, and towards empathy"

those are pretty profound words particularly in the context of finding out Moonlight had actually won and the guy telling them to come up on stage...

>cool intro... that's my joint

Good lawd...luckily it wasn't the other way around. IE: Imagine Moonlight getting thrown off the stage for La La Land after some old folks got stuff on the stage with some wrong shit.

By the way, please understand that folks BE messing up now. Like I can't think of many situations in my regular life where there aren't mistakes of some kind on a regular. You can order some fast food, get home, and realize you have wrong, extra, and/or missing shit. You can buy a video game, start playing, and then get to some crazy glitch that has to be patched. Or you can get a game, try to go online, and find out the servers are shit and you can't. Every now and then, Spotify be trippin. Don't even start me on work shit. It's crazy.

moonlighting got the scraps.

yall really believe this wasn't some funny business? They played the LA LA Land announcement with all its accolades while they walked up to the stage. You mean to tell me the producers don't know who is going to win and play the sounds bites live? That seems odd. You would think they would have Moonlights credits ready to roll while they strolled up to the stage to make sure it's a smooth production.

Then to hear "you should keep it anyway" on a mic was some fuck boy shit. Felt like Hollywood was on some "how dare LaLa Land not win best picture?"

It was a mistake and it lead to chaos on stage. It is unfortunate that Moonlight didn't get the time in the spotlight, but it happens.

And nobody but the two PriceWaterhouse accountants know the winners up until the name is read. They are the ones who correct these mix-ups because they are the only ones who know the truth

....the wrong envelope.

The Academy, the Oscars producers, and the movie industry takes itself VERY seriously. They take the Oscar's broadcast even more seriously. The idea that they looked like a bunch of amateur assholes at the worst possible moment is going to get a lot of people fired.

Of the La La Land crew, the one person who looks questionable is the third producer who spoke, because at that point, he knew Moonlight had actually won.

I feel bad for both the La La Land and Moonlight crews, even though Moonlight clearly deserved to win.

is the continued snubbing of Martin Scorcese. The greatest American filmmaker of all time. And 'Silence' is the best technical film of the year that I saw. It's laughable to think it isn't included in a list of 'Arrival' 'Hacksaw Ridge' (hahahahaha that shit was like a made-for-tv movie) and 'Lion'.

Seriously?

Ignored again and it's become such commonplace for the Oscars to snub Marty that no one even bothers pointing it out anymore. Moonlight deserved to win imo....possibly only the second or third time that the Oscars get best picture right in my lifetime. But Marty is just so good that we feel ok to ignore him because well, he's Marty. He'll just keep on peeling off masterpieces of cinema without regard to acclaim.
