"Whenever I think of [insert city] I immediately think of [event/movie/et..."

An artist from Waco, TX hit me online last week, and the only thing I could think of was David Koresh and the stand off.

It made me realize that there are certain cities that will ALWAYS be associated with an event, or a movie, TV Show, rapper/singer, etc. etc...and that's usually the only thing I know about the city until I hit Google.

This was the case with Simi Valley for a good 15-16 years....every single time I heard it, I immediately thought about the OJ Case, and thought about how racist of a city it was.

Same for Lakeview Terrace, which I didn't even know how to get to until two years ago when my boy had a friend who lived up there.

Growing up in Lake Charles, LA, this was a summertime mission many families from there made.

My mom used to sell frozen cups in the spring and summer to stack coins for the trip.

I get a funny feeling when I pass by there now. Like it's hard to believe it was what it was. I think aboud Supertight, Blac Monks, and Big Mike. From the doctor's office I go to with my pops, we can see the dome outside the window depending which waiting room they put us in. We'll sit and talk shit about how they fucked off doing something with the dome and how it's just sitting next to NRG looking all weird.

I was there for five years and one of the first things someone told me was not to fall in love with any bar, that they'll be gone the next year. I laughed and then sure as hell the proletariat closed.

I think I'll always have an affinity for that place. Growing up in Austin and then moving to San Antonio, Houston was the only place that I thought was Black. Then I moved out there and learned not only was it black but it was also diverse to a fault.

I tell the old lady that when we're out and about in DC how if said event was in Houston we wouldn't be he only black couple there. She really didn't believe me until we went to bingo in the heights this last week and was just blown away by just all people being together.

As far as the dome goes, Houston was one of the first road trips that a young meat took a young gf on and we definitely hit up Astroworld , it didn't (the theme park) didn't last much longer after that, so by the time I got there I was just shocked.

I did both of those during my first go round in San Anotnio back in 1990. We hit The Alamo and then a Spurs game with free tickets they'd given to Air Force members. In fact, I caught the Spurs on back-to-back weekends when they had my favorite Spurs roster of all-time because of David Robinson and Rod Strickland's presence in particular. And they even had my, at the time, favorite Georgetown player - Reggie Williams - on their roster.

I remember the creators of the Batman purposely wanted Gotham City to stand in for any NE city

felt the same way about Chicago. Plus, often times the city becomes a character itself and having that be the case in this movie would have taken away from it

I was on Mt. Washington sweating like a hooker in church wondering why football stadium was half filled in August. It was humid as fuck and those extras had on winter coats acting like it was January.

TBH the fact that you're even a mod here fits squarely within Jag's narrative of OK-sanctioned aggression, bullying, and toxicity. *shrug*

It was playing on the radio in the ride we got from the airport. It was crazily jamming to me and we was like 'Snoop is back'. That was the first time I went to Vegas.

We also had a dj slide Ain't No fun into a set at Hard Rock Cafe and maaad chicks were around knowing and happily belting out all of the words. Adlibs and all. We were amped about that. It was Halloween, so we were surrounded by absurd getups. Slutty policewomen, little red riding hoods, cat women in *sugafoot voice* skin tiiight and lowcut everything. It was glorious. It's taken me years to get acclimated to domesticated/kid Halloween again.

Side: we saw WARREN MOON at that same club. He looked like a tank and he had two 80s style playmate-looking white chicks with him. 'Nurses' I think. It was damn near 15 years ago so cmon...
